I've tried lightdm-gtk-greeter and kylin-greeter and the same crash
occurs. So I'm back to thinking this issue is with lightdm. Some data or
configuration its passing to the greeter is causing it to fail.

got "Queue stuck" then "Microcode SW error detected" I have the same

[regression] Logging in to Unity8

When I log into unity 8 session first i see black screen and next is
wallpeper with left and top dash and loading starting scope with apps
but no apps show up just freezes everything. Mouse and keyboard is not
working. When I log in to unity 7 everthing is fine. Where is the
unity-system-compositor 0.9.1 (the aforementioned silo) is unlikely to
be causing this, since:
1. I had a zesty system I hadn't updated in a week or so, which did not
exhibit the bug. After updating only USC to 0.9.1, I still couldn't
reproduce the bug. However, after doing a subsequent

That is very strange. Simply reinstalling grub without making any other
changes should not have had any different outcome. An EFI system must
have an EFI system partition mounted in /boot/efi. The original error
message is complaining that it can not find that.

You might want to install grub to all of the drives in the server (
dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc ). That way if one fails and it boots from
another, it can boot too.

Matthieu, it does appear to be something special about the lubuntu
packaging since it only affects lubuntu, but I have no idea what that
something could be. I can't see anything that would cause grub-pc to
fail to remove. I have not taken the time yet to try to actually
reproduce it with a set
