Okay, I think I need to point out that the AppStream metainfo format solves all
the problems you have (providing a human-readable translated name, associating
a snap and a .desktop file, integrating it with GNOME Software)- it will even
allow one to specify multiple launch-commands per software
> I believe you would then propose we change 2.2 to 3.0?
If you simply change 2.2 to 3.0 in debian/rules in that stanze, then
it'll change the dependency on javax.el:el-api as well.
So, the dependencies should be the following:
javax.el:el-api:2.2 (same as it is now)

I talked to mbiebl about this today in #debian-gnome. He does not intend
to enable it by default on Debian because their users are more sensitive
to services that "phone home". I don't think that's as big of a concern
for Ubuntu since we enable unattended-upgrades and whoopsie (and
probably more)
@vanvugt
you were right that glPixelStorei was to blame. In ShmBuffer Mir uses
glPixelStorei to change the GL_UNPACK_ALIGNMENT from 4 (that Qt set) to 1 (that
Mir sets, as it is more careful about stride).
Mir fails to restore the state the Qt set, which broke Qt's rendering
from then on.
