If the host connection looses connection, NM fires a connection restart
for said connection but fails to restart the OpenVPN connection with it,
resulting in the user having to repeatedly tell OpenVPN to connect again
if the host connection is unreliable (eg when using wifi).

Same problem here. Editing resolv.conf or #8 post solves it.
I almost lost a RAID today because postfix was not able to send mdadm
notifications -
delivery temporarily suspended: Host or domain name not found. Name service
error for name=smtp.gmail.com type=MX: Host not found
I use
I've also just now experience this error when starting a video in Firefox
(right after the ad started to display, the whole desktop froze, only the mouse
could be moved. No ALT+F1 combo etc).
However, I could log in via ssh.
The hard drive LED stood on for a good while after the freeze occurred.
