So I thought steps to reproduce are:
1. get a guest that works (via uvtoools-libvirt or whatever you prever)
2. get the qemu commandline that it is started with, in my case:
$ sudo kvm -m 1024 -drive

Seems AMD_PINCTRL has been excluded from official sources; I've built 2
new kernel versions today and both of them had AMD_PINCTRL disabled,
even though I applied all the patches from kernel.ubuntu.org.
Could someone please check if the newest stuff works without compiling a
custom ker
For joseph's kernel: Install it, then proprietary drivers. It works a
charm! New kernel also now supports my Gigabyte gc-wb867d-i wifi!
Thank you so much! Sorry folks for so the number of comments in a row,
if there were an edit button I'd be using it. :-)

Marc Singer, could you please tell me which kernel version this is? And you say
it's the official ubuntu repos, not the custom kernel ppa?
I've managed to compile and install 4.11-rc5 without too many issues, but an

** Description changed:

will fail to build from source until they are fixed. We plan to upload
vala 0.36 at the beginning of the 17.10 cycle to give time to fix these.
GNOME packages should already be fixed.
