Before applying this update, I was able to easily crash GNOME Shell in a
default clean updated Ubuntu GNOME 17.04. All I had to do with click the
system status menu in the top right and enable Location.
After updating to libgweather 3.24.1-0ubuntu0.1, I can't reproduce the
crash.

necessary to include, because it can be trivially obtained with pip,

on my system improves the situation for intensive read / write, but does
not solve the problem. Here are my test results after running the above
commands.
I should be seeing 4s and 5s all the way down, but instead I

A side note to the proposed SRU exception policy for CPU microcode:
Please also take into account the package amd64-microcode. It's the processor
microcode firmware for AMD CPUs. It also fixes critical errata and provide
stability and security updates.

dependency...
