While I can certainly confirm, what is the use case?
It would seem only useful when in a wayland session to switch from the intel

When using gfxpayload=text, it works normally.
IIUC, in text mode, grub will still try to iterate all available modes,

OK, I think I finally found the real trigger, helped by John Tanner's
comment and Googling the bt_coex_active option. It's trying to
simultaneously use bluetooth and a *2.4GHz* wifi network.
Trying that on my hardware results in lots of iwlwifi kernel logging
reporting that the device microcode
Further investigation has identified this to be a SMB issue after all,
which is unrelated to the libreoffice package.

incorporated a small nitpick on the original patch (that prevents a
warning), thus the ibuf* patch actually differs from ubuntu3.
niedbalski: if you want to update what you did in ubuntu3, that's fine.
