I'm using the Software Updater that gets called from the System Settings
GUI. I get there by clicking the cogwheel in the upper right corner,
select About this computer, and hitting the Install Updates button in
there is no error in that valgrind log, also seems dbgsym are missing
for glib and nautilus

The 4build1 versioning on libsmi2ldbl is not compatible with the
Conflicts/Replaces versioning on smitools; I'd recommend doing:
sudo apt install libsmi2ldbl
to upgrade to the latest libsmi2ldbl first and then smitools should
install.
0.4.8+dfsg2-4build1 was in 12.04; was this an upgrade from
@Nevel, did you try Jeremy's workaround? Does uninstalling iio-sensor-
proxy makes a difference?

On login, display rotates to wrong
found a pattern,
the display is working if
the computer is turned on while the tv is off AND was turned off while was
select another hdmi port
in this condition when turning on the tv is misdetected as 85" but with
right 3840x2160 30Hz
any other attempt detected 43" and then nothing works to
how did you resolve it?

@John: What you describe is something else, and you'd better use the GUI
to fix it:
Settings -> Region & Language -> Formats
You probably want to change it to United Kingdom.

After a few rounds of cleanup we made it.
There was enough cleanup to be worth a retest - other than that we are ready
IMO.
@Jorge - could you do a final run on the T/X/Z builds in [1] to be sure

The natural scrolling option in settings->devices->touchpad does not apply if
the default driver is synaptic.
if i switch to libinput it seems to work, but since synaptic is the default (I
think), it could cause issues with new users.
