unstable kernel, applied all of the patches referenced by two links in
this thread (one to a single github commit, and the other to the branch
merged to the Head kernel) and I got it fully working, including multi-

release. Perhaps you were looking at the changelog against a newer
release of Ubuntu than the one you are using?
