I'm able to install a kernel using kvm:
kvm -m 512 -hda ./autopkgtest-artful-i386.img
Is there a way to modify the autopkgtest command line to tell it which
kernel to boot? When I have multiple test kernels installed, I usually
just select them from the GRUB menu. What would be the equivalent

ago, and thought that was the fix. I'll wait for the update in the PPA

Thanks for the tip! Defining the FREETYPE_PROPERTIES as you suggested
in /etc/environment did indeed disable hinting and renders the same
crisper fonts as was in earlier versions of Ubuntu. Personally, I still
prefer to disable hinting in the source code but your suggestion works

I'm running into an issue mounting the image to get a kernel onto it.
For some reason, I cannot mount /dev/nbd0p1:
sudo modprobe nbd
sudo qemu-nbd --connect=/dev/nbd0 ./autopkgtest-artful-i386.img
sudo mount /dev/nbd0p1 /mnt/test/
mount: /mnt/test: special device /dev/nbd0p1 does not exist.
To be a bit more precise, I can login, but then Unity starts a crash
loop, so nothing showing, just a wallpaper.

That bit of code is automatically generated by a common Debian helper
utility for apache2 so that's very likely not going to change.
Can the puppet modules leave the keystone.conf in place (don't remove
it) and instead disable it after installing/upgrading the package with
'a2dissite
