[Bug 1585332] Re: Graphical snaps don't follow the window theme
** Description changed: - Graphical snaps don't follow the window and icon themes selected by the user (GTK them and probably KDE ones as well). - Instead, they are displayed using that ugly basic theme that is used when the theme can't be found. + Confined graphical GTK & Qt applications do not use the user-selected or + default theme of the end-user desktop outside Ubuntu. - One example of this is the keepassx-elopio snap. + # Expected behaviour - I think snappy should somehow allow access to the required directories - (/usr/share/themes, /usr/share/icons, ~/.themes, ~/.icons, and maybe - others). + Graphical snaps should seamlessly integrate with the desktop, using + theme, font and other visual preferences selected by the user. + + # Actual behaviour + + Outside Ubuntu proper, applications look un-themed. They don't match + other applications on the same desktop which are not snapped. + Applications look like 'Windows 95' (or worse) and are thus not + appealing to use. + + # Steps to reproduce + + 1. Install a recent one of the following systems:- + + Debian Squeeze, Ubuntu MATE, Solus Budgie, Fedora 27 + (The above is by no means an exhaustive list of affected systems. Essentially install anything that isn't "Ubuntu Proper") + + 2. Enable snap support if not already enabled, as per + https://docs.snapcraft.io/core/install + + 3. Install a graphical application such as the gimp from the archive + + e.g. apt install gimp, dnf install gimp, eopkg install gimp + + 4. Install the same graphical application from the snap store + + e.g. sudo snap install gimp + + 4. Run both instances of the application + + e.g. /usr/bin/gimp && snap run gimp + + 5. Compare the look and feel of each set of windows. + + Bonus: Change the theme on your install and observe the archive- + installed application change look, and the snap one not to. + + Attached are example screenshots. ** Attachment added: "Fedora_27.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1585332/+attachment/5035123/+files/Fedora_27.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1585332 Title: Graphical snaps don't honour the desktop theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snappy/+bug/1585332/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1742696] [NEW] Commit d9018976cdb6 missing in Kernels <4.14.x preventing lasting fix of Intel SPI bug on certain serial flash
Public bug reported: New bug forked out of Bug #1734147 "corrupted BIOS due to Intel SPI bug in kernel Edit" When trying to apply the proposed fix in Bug #1734147 to a Lenovo Yoga with Serial Flash s25fl064k, the actual fix works, however reverting back to original available Kernel <4.14.x again locks the BIOS for write. How to identify chip: Using the Fix Kernel from Bug #1734147 the kernel log will show intel-spi entries. In lower part serial is shown as below: intel-spi intel-spi: s25fl064k (8192 Kbytes) Additional Information: Lenovo Yoga running Linux Mint 18.3 (based on Xenial 16.04) Bug #1734147 occured when trying Ubuntu 17.10 Explanation by Mika Westerberg (Bug #1734147, Comment #524) "commit d9018976cdb6 is missing with this particular BIOS/system because every time you boot the system, the BIOS resets to default when it finds BCR register is changed. This is different issue than the CMP=1 issue most of the users have reported. This one also is not permanent so everything is fine as long as you don't touch that BCR register. In this case you either need to always boot to a kernel where that fix (d9018976cdb6) is included or blacklist lpc_ich.ko. Ubuntu v4.14.x kernels have that fix included so you might want to take one of them or build your own." New bug requested to discuss this separate from main Bug #1734147 Anthony Wong (Bug #1734147, Comment #525) "Looks like we need to cherry-pick it to 4.13 after all. Public bug reported: On Ubuntu Xenial, apt-get fails silently when security update server cannot be reached. This state could be detected by scanning the apt-get output afterwards. [Bug 1742676] [NEW] Ubuntu kernels 4.10+ hard freeze on Thinkpad X230 about 10 minutes after a boot.
Public bug reported: Hi, Any Ubuntu kernels since 4.10 hard freeze my X230 about 10 minutes after the boot. I don't, unfortunately, have any logs, as usually the system freezes before the logs sync to the disk. Immediately before the freeze, iwlwifi disconnects and fails to connect back, spewing a few messages about firmware errors, and then the whole system freezes. The last kernel I can use successfully is Ubuntu 4.8 series. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Attachment added: "lspci-vnvn.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742676/+attachment/5035057/+files/lspci-vnvn.log ** Summary changed: - Ubuntu kernels 4.10+ hard freeze on Thinkpad X230 about 10 after a boot. + Ubuntu kernels 4.10+ hard freeze on Thinkpad X230 about 10 minutes after a boot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742676 Title: Ubuntu kernels 4.10+ hard freeze on Thinkpad X230 about 10 minutes after a boot. [Bug 1735160] Re: [SRU] Please backport python3-macaroonbakery 0.0.6-1 [universe] from bionic
Oh I removed the python3 patch from the series but the not actual file. Regarding 17.10 sil2100 confirmed me that this is required. But at least it's going to be easier considering that: - python3-httmock is already in artful (1.2.6-1 universe) - python3-protobuf is already in artful (3.0.0-9ubuntu5 universe) (so no need to apply the nacl patch in py-macaroon-bakery) - python3-nacl's version of artful is 1.1.1-1build2 (so no need to apply the nacl patch in py-macaroon-bakery) The only things to be done are: - target https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/google-apputils-python/+bug/1735162 for 17.10 too - relax python3-six deps in py-macaroon-bakery - SRU python3-pymacaroons -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735160 Title: [SRU] Please backport python3-macaroonbakery 0.0.6-1 [universe] from bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/httmock/+bug/1735160/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1742671] [NEW] SNMPD hangs when a client browses a restricted OID
Public bug reported: Overview: When snmpd is configured to show a limited view of oids using VACM, it is possible to cause snmpd to hang by performing an snmpwalk. Tested on 5.7.2~dfsg-8.1ubuntu3.2 on Mint 17.1 (aka Ubuntu 14.04) and 5.7.3+dfsg-1ubuntu4 on Ubuntu 16.04.3 Steps to reproduce: Use VACM to restrict the OIDs that a user has access to as follows: (I'll attach a full snmpd.conf below) view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.1 view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.2 view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.4.31 Perform an snmpwalk NOT using bulk walk Expected result; A listing of the contents of those three OID trees Actual result; snmpwalk will list all the OIDs up to iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.22 and then hang. All subsequent attempts to query any SNMP will time out. SNMPD has to be restarted before it will respond again. There doesn't seem to be anything useful in the logs. Mitigation: If the user is also allowed to browse two more OIDs the problem goes away: view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.1 view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.2 # Necessary OIDs view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.4.1 view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.4.25 # view limited_vw included .1.3.6.1.2.1.4.31 Or, only query the host using snmpbulkwalk. ** Affects: net-snmp (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Example config that will trigger the bug" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742671/+attachment/5035050/+files/example_snmpd.conf ** Summary changed: - SNMPD hangs when a client browses a restriced OID + SNMPD hangs when a client browses a restricted OID -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1742671 Title: SNMPD hangs when a client browses a restricted OID To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/net-snmp/+bug/1742671/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
