As you can see from the logs above I've just booted on mainline kernel
and the issue is still there. Now It's actually what it was a while ago:
Elantech touchpad detects as Logitech PS/2 Mouse.

I confirm the issue with an Samsung NC10 with integrated Intel Mobile 945 GSE
After a fresh install of lubuntu 16.04.3 and first Auto-Update. The current 32
Bit Desktop iso brought kernel 4.10, everything was fine. The first update
installed Kernel 4.13.0-26 which still has the defect.
Running an Acer Aspire 5332 with 16.04 pretty much a fresh install from
last week.
The patch did fix the problem, eventually, but on the first boot none of
the X clients connected to the display, so all I had was a mouse
pointer.
logged in via Alt-F1 console and ran an Xterm with :0 DISPLAY env
If you point me to the kernel package I can try it..

When trying to access anything using Java + HTTPS, the process is
terminated with an java.security.InvalidAlgorithmParameterException.
Adding -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=changeit to the command line
flags of java fixes this problem.
