I am using Kubuntu 17.10 with telegram-desktop 1.1.23-1. I've noticed
that Ubuntu's packaging does not contain an AppStream metadata file:
$ dpkg-query -L telegram-desktop | grep appdata | wc -l

However, upstream sources do supply one:

A logic bug in snapd-glib is failing to match the edge channel to the
stable version and defaulting to the store version as reported by snapd
(which for some reason is the insider version). This makes GNOME
Software think there is a version to update to.
** Changed in: gnome-software (Ubuntu)
Public bug reported:
Early in the install process there was a warning about a non-UEFI
operating system which may not be accessible after proceeding with a
UEFI ubuntu install. I didn't really care about losing the other OS so
I proceeded. Later in the install process grub failed to install.

If it's decided thatwe want to default to cap-htm=off, then that can be
achieved by adding:
```smc->default_caps.caps[SPAPR_CAP_HTM] = SPAPR_CAP_OFF;```
to the spapr-bionic machine class init
