The mainline ARM64 kernels have CONFIG_EFI_ARMSTUB=y and are able to be
used to boot with u-boot and 64-bit Tiano Core UEFI launched grub. The
default kernel config for linux-raspi2 just needs that to be able to do
so as well.

pm-utils hasn't been touched in eight years, none of this is likely to

Launching simple scan and xsane via the terminal with the USB3 workaround[1]
environmental variable works:
$ SANE_USB_WORKAROUND=1 xsane
Or

The weird thing is I had previously set that variable by adding `export

It keeps locking at inconvenient times when I can't get access to

I also have this with a server that I have to boot with "noefi" because
the latest kernel won't boot on it. The system is a MacPro 2009, even
with upgraded 2010 apple firmware the kernel will lock-up while loading
unless I set noefi in the kernel cmdline.
