About a week and a half ago I would lose rendering of the desktop
randomly while under a Wayland session. I would have the last displayed
images on my monitor, mouse movement worked, video and audio still
workedd, but visual feedback was lost when clicking on items in the

error occurs right at the end, apparently cleaning up after itself.

In the update process I was notified that GRUB was changed (not the path
name /etc/default/grub) just GRUB. I choose the option to view a side by
side comparison.
The updater just moved on and kept my changed file. Nothing opened, no
warnings, it just moved on.

Applied fix as per Melissa Rice's post above and working fine on 16.04
on 4.15.0-29 kernel. Many thanks to all involved, it was getting tedious
to have to boot into the old kernel repeatedly.

There is no menu item in the VPN submenu to disconnect a VPN connection.
Only "configuring VPN" is offered. The only way to terminate a VPN
