[Bug 1844498] Re: 18.10+ cloud images have the LXD group as gid 1000

2019-10-10 Thread Oliver Grawert via ubuntu-bugs
note that the build scripts for core do have an md5sum check to detect changes
to /etc/passwd|group|shadow because this file is orignally readonly.
dirs created with specific UIDs/GIDs by package postinist scripts that get
copied into the writable area of the rootfs during first boot would fail to be
owned by the daemon users the packages set up for them during a core update...

adding a new entry to one of the readonly password db files is fine but
requires changes in livecd-rootfs and an update of the expected md5sum
...

additionally to the above, since /etc/group is readonly, you can not add
users to the lxd group if you add lxd there so unprivileged containers
on core will become impossible, the GID of lxd should be transferred
into /var/lib/extrausers/group to make it possible to add a local system
user to this group.

[Bug 1797945] Re: Lightning incompatible with Thunderbird 60.2.1

2019-10-10 Thread Paul White
Comments #17 and #24 closed this bug report as being invalid but it was
reopened as many users required a version of Lightning in a language
other than English which could at the time of reporting only be obtained
from the Thunderbird web-site.

There have been no comments here for almost a year. The release of
Thunderbird 60.9.0 includes translations in the Lightning package (xul-
ext-lightning). This package is updated each time Thunderbird itself
receives an update.

Bug #545778, referring to Lightning being in English only, has been
closed as being fixed so this bug report should be closed as being fixed
too.

[Bug 1846714] Re: Merge "BUG/MEDIUM: server: Also copy "check-sni" for server templates."

2019-10-10 Thread Paride Legovini
Hello Malte,

I tried to reproduce the behavior you describe using the haproxy.cfg you
provided, but without success. I have some questions that may help us
getting in sync with what are observing.

1. Your haproxy.cfg doesn't work in Bionic and Eoan because haproxy complains
that the following two lines:

nameserver dns1 8.8.8.8
nameserver dns2 8.8.4.4

do not specify an UDP port. Changing them to:

nameserver dns1 8.8.8.8:53
nameserver dns2 8.8.4.4:53

make it work, but I don't see how it could have worked for you. Can you
confirm you tested the conf file with the haproxy package shipped with
Ubuntu?

2. Even with the fix above, with Bionic I still get L6RSP errors in all the
three upstreams, while you wrote that the first one should work and be listed
as L7OK. The error is: "SSL handshake failure (Bad file descriptor)" for all of
them. Can you confirm it the first one should work with your conf file and
Bionic's haproxy?

If I change the server-template line to:

  server-template letsencrypt.status.io 3 letsencrypt.status.io:80 check
resolvers res_statusio

I get L7OK from all the 3 upstreams. If I do:

  curl --cacert /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt
https://letsencrypt.status.io:444

I get the expected response, so my networking should be working fine.

3. In your haproxy.conf you set:

  option httpchk GET / HTTP/1.1\r\nHost:\ letsencrypt.status.io
  http-request set-header Host letsencrypt.status.io

It seems you are setting the Host header twice here. I doubt it's
related with the check-sni issue, but worth checking and maybe dropping
the first one

4. I tried the same configuration on Eoan, where the check-sni patch should be
included, however I get SOCKERR errors for all the three upstreams. In the
journal I see several errors like:

   OpenSSL error[0x14094410] ssl3_read_bytes: sslv3 alert handshake
failure

which I didn't see on Bionic. Is it actually working for you on Eoan?

Please remember to set the report status back to New after providing
additional information. Thanks!

[Bug 1847596] Re: rpi3b+: corrupted screen on hdmi

2019-10-10 Thread Hui Wang
If I don't add dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d in the config.txt, the rpi4 board
will have the same corrupted screen as the #1 for armhf kernel + armhf
uboot.

On the rpi3 B+ board, if booting with the same uboot without
dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d + 4.15/5.0 raspi2 kernel, the hdmi display
doesn't have this issue, it proves that the eoan kernel for raspi2
introduces a new issue, will find the root cause for this new issue.

[Bug 1846930] Re: [HDA-Intel - HD-Audio Generic, playback] No sound at all nor audio record at all too

2019-10-10 Thread Hui Wang
If there is no change for any pins after plugging the headset, probably
it is a hw design issue or a codec coeff setting issue, we couldn't
handle it.

Please test the latest mainline kernel https://kernel.ubuntu.com
/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.4-rc2/

If it doesn't work too.

please test with windows. If windows doesn't work, probably it is a HW
design issue.

If windows works, please file a bug on the bugzilla of mainline kernel,
maybe realtek engineer will look at this bug.

[Bug 1847484] Re: tmux crashed with SIGSEGV

2019-10-10 Thread Paride Legovini
Hello Henning, thanks for your report. I can't reproduce the issue using
Eoan, the same version of tmux and the same architecture. Is this
something that happened one-off, or does it happen often/always on your
system?

Since there isn't enough information in your report to differentiate
between a problem specific to your system and a bug in Ubuntu, I'm
marking this bug as Incomplete for the moment. If you believe that this
is really a bug, we'd be grateful if you would then provide a more
complete description of the problem and its context, and then change the
bug status back to New.

As the stacktrace doesn't contain any private information I'm removing
the "private security" status from this report.

Thank you!

[Bug 1843729] Re: byobu ftbfs in eoan

2019-10-10 Thread Paride Legovini
The patch looks good for upstream inclusion, but if this has to be fixed
in the packaging branch wouldn't skipping pep8's newly introduced E117
be more appropriate? Skip to be kept until the proper fix lands
upstream.

[Bug 1658233] Re: missing apparmor rules

2019-10-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package mysql-8.0 - 8.0.17-0ubuntu2

---
mysql-8.0 (8.0.17-0ubuntu2) eoan; urgency=medium

  [ Robie Basak ]
  * Ship missing files newly built since MySQL 8.0:
libmysqlrouter_http.so.1, various MySQL Router plugins,
mysqlrouter_passwd.
  * Ship missing mysql_clone.so MySQL plugin, newly built since
8.0.17.
  * Protect against future new build files from being missed:
- Add debian/not-installed
- Switch from --list-missing to --fail-missing

  [ Lars Tangvald ]
  * Fix failing autopkgtest mysql_os_user.
  * d/mysql-server-8.0.postinst: switch from mysql_native_password to
the upstream recommended mechanism caching_sha2_password for the
default root user when a default root password is set via debconf
(this is not the default case).
  * d/mysql-server-8.0.postinst: drop mysql_upgrade since this is now
done automatically by the MySQL daemon on startup.
  * d/additions/apparmor-profile: add missing AppArmor rules
(LP: #1658233).
  * d/copyright: add missing entries for clone and ddl_rewriter plugins.

[Bug 1847611] [NEW] Installing prelink on a fresh eoan install gets me a "Core dumped" error

2019-10-10 Thread Paul
Public bug reported:

Hi !

Just installed prelink on a fresh Eoan beta install following this
process and got an instant "core dumpled" error :

sudo apt install prelink
sudo sed -i 's/PRELINKING=unknown/PRELINKING=yes/' /etc/default/prelink
sudo /etc/cron.daily/prelink

Had to boot on a live usb,
mount my / in /mnt
and "sudo cp -r /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu /mnt/lib/" to get rid ot this error.

And then did this to remove prelink :
sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev
sudo mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc
sudo mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys
sudo chroot /mnt
apt purge prelink

Is prelink deprecated or is it an error ? (and is it still useful BTW ?)

[Bug 1798333] Re: warning "Application already exists, re-requesting properties"

2019-10-10 Thread Rosika Schreck
Hi,

I´ve got the same problem here. I´m running Linux/Lubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, 64 bit.
There are way too many entries in journalctl.
The app which causes this is systemload-indicator.

Looking through my system-logs in journalctl I noticed that indicator-multiload
writes a huge amount of data into it.
Per second 4 entries!
Like so: [...] indicator-appli[1947]: Application already exists, re-requesting
properties.

Is there a way of stopping this behaviour? My log-file is becoming
overcrowded.

Thanks in advance and greetings.
Rosika

[Bug 1847593] Re: while booting up it gets blackout

2019-10-10 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
You filed this report to ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu), i.e. the desktop
documentation, which this certainly is not related to. So closing.

I would suggest that you seek support at e.g. to
start with in order to sort things out and determine if this is really a
bug in some package or something else.
