[Bug 1845246] Re: Failed to import plugin clustering
Seems this is a version mismatch issue, I can reproduce this in a virtualenv with python-openstackclient==3.18.0 python-senlinclient==1.7.0 The issue simply seems to be that senlinclient needs to be updated for stein, 1.7.0 is from rocky or older, if I install 1.9.0 or newer, the issue goes away. [Bug 1848492] Re: Change Config Option CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE for s390x from yes to no
Kernel SRU request for changing kernel config submitted: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2019-October/thread.html#104813 changing status to 'In Progress' ** Description changed: + SRU Justification: + == + + [Impact] + + * By default all standby memory that is configured to an LPAR is used at + boot (IPL) time. + + * But the standby memory is meant to be added and used on demand later + (after IPL). + + [Fix] + + * 0001-Ubuntu-Config-Disabled-CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT.patch + + [Test Case] + + * Configure an LPAR in it's Activation Profile with a certain amount of + 'Initial' memory and some 'Reserved' memory on top. + + * Re-activate the LPAR to make the changes take effect and boot (IPL) + Ubuntu. + + * Check with the help of free whether the reported memory is only the + initial memory (actual) or initial+reserved (desired). + + [Regression Potential] + + * There is a certain regression potential, since some systems may have + Initial and Reserved memory already defined today and have it already + all in use under Linux (today obviously w/o having it dynamically + added). + + * If such a system got re-activated and rebooted, the memory size will + then be what's defined as Initial memory and no longer Initial+Reserved. + + * To be able to use the same size of the memory than before, the + Reserved memory need to be either dynamically be added or the Initial + memory re-configured to the sum of former Initial+Reserved. + + * The latter case requires a re-activation of the LPAR, but since this + corner case only happens after a reboot, a downtime is already in place + for the re-activation. + + * But overall the regression potential is low since it's for s390x only + and the 'Reserved' memory option in the Activation Profile is rarely + used. + + [Other Info] + + * In the past this config option was diabled for ppc64el, too. + __ + The Ubuntu kernel configuration contains CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE=y for s390. This causes all standby memory configured for an LPAR to be used at IPL time. Note that this is definetaly not what a user wants on s390. The normal process is: define a certain amount of "base" memory which the system should use when IPL'ed, and define also a certain amount of "standby" memory which can be (also only partially) be additionaly used when necessary. Also note that it is *not* possible to add additional memory to a runnung system, besides the amount of memory specified as "standby". Therefore please change the kernel config option CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE to "n" for s390. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: ubuntu-z-systems Status: Triaged => In Progress ** Changed in: ubuntu-z-systems Assignee: (unassigned) => Frank Heimes (frank-heimes) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848492 Title: Change Config Option CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE for s390x from yes to no To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/1848492/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1848585] Re: dpdk 18.11.2-4 ADT test failure with linux 5.4.0-1.2
Thanks Seth for the report! The issue is (as usual) a DKMS build against the new kernel version. I know - and thanks you for that - that you do those checks in advance. Could you outline the expected timing and target releases for this kernel (including HWEs) so that I know the deadlines to fix this? THe 5.4-rc3 at https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.4-rc3/ seems to lack full headers. With both packages installed I get broken symlinks like /usr/src/linux-headers-5.4.0-050400rc3-generic/... -> ../linux-headers-5.4.0-050400rc3 The latter doesn't exist. Might be the reason for: ERROR (dkms apport): kernel package linux-headers-5.4.0-050400rc3-generic is not supported Do you have another place to fetch a 5.4 kernel for the full DKMS log, to then identify the upstream patch (if it exists)? ** Changed in: dpdk (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848585 Title: dpdk 18.11.2-4 ADT test failure with linux 5.4.0-1.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpdk/+bug/1848585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1843392] Re: [snap] smart card reader no longer works
My impression was that smart card readers are pretty common and it is the smartcards that keep changing. So USB access to the smart card devices class should be enough there. Being able to add custom/newer pkcs smartcard support modules sounds like a good idea. I wonder if that could be something shared across applications? I.e. Firefox / Opera or other Nodejs Desktop applications that reuse chromium, will need something similar. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1843392 Title: [snap] smart card reader no longer works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1843392/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1848653] Re: package zfsutils-linux 0.8.1-1ubuntu14 failed to install/upgrade: installed zfsutils-linux package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
I take that last part back. The zfs-mount service is failing to start. I believe I know what caused this whole scenario: 1. I'm running containers on my host, specifically using Docker 2. Many of the containers have volume mounts out to different data sets within my pool 3. It looks like either Docker was not stopped when I started the 19.10 upgrade or it was started up too soon during the upgrade. When all of my data sets were unmounted there were some containers up and running happily writing bits of data into some of the data sets 4. zfs-mount service fails indicating that the mount point is not empty What I did to remedy this was to go into my mount point and wipe everything out that was there. In my case there were directories created from the container volume mounts, as well as some files within them from some of the applications coming up and writings logs/config (but then crashing as everything else was missing). After the cleanup of the mount point I could start the zfs-mount service successfully, I saw all of my data sets get mounted, and everything is generally working now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848653 Title: package zfsutils-linux 0.8.1-1ubuntu14 failed to install/upgrade: installed zfsutils-linux package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zfs-linux/+bug/1848653/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1848556] Re: qemu-img check failing on remote image in Eoan
Since it seemed so easy, while bisecting I found that it hangs with v4.0.0 and v3.1.0 from git and even v3.0.0. Since the reported good version was 3.1 I began to wonder if I might have overlooked something. I wondered if it might be e.g. the apache version providing a different behavior on http. I was trying to access the same apache server with 4.0 and 3.1 and ran it against the download target: $ qemu-img check https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/30/Cloud/x86_64/images/Fedora-Cloud-Base-30-1.2.x86_64.qcow2 3.1 ran into a segfault and 4.0 seems to hang on that. Maybe I should take a break and revisit that later, as people might have an idea already what this might be about. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1848556 Title: qemu-img check failing on remote image in Eoan To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/qemu/+bug/1848556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
