[Bug 1845246] Re: Failed to import plugin clustering

2019-10-18 Thread Dr. Jens Harbott
Seems this is a version mismatch issue, I can reproduce this in a
virtualenv with

python-openstackclient==3.18.0
python-senlinclient==1.7.0

The issue simply seems to be that senlinclient needs to be updated for
stein, 1.7.0 is from rocky or older, if I install 1.9.0 or newer, the
issue goes away. See https://releases.openstack.org/stein/index.html

[Bug 1847196] Re: BackendException: PyDrive backend requires PyDrive installation

2019-10-18 Thread Vladislav Shumkin
Well 19.10 came as an upgrade to my machine and broke the Backup. Looks
like PyDrive is not a package that could be installed from apt
repositories, so I'm stuck without ability to backup\restore files,
which is sad.

Okay, I have more information on this bug. If you are in the gnome-

click "Placement" and change it to left, the problem will show up.

[Bug 1848621] Re: [snap] lost all passwords on 19.10 when chromium-browser deb was replaced by a snap

2019-10-18 Thread Jesse Glick
I hit this too. I have not yet switched from 18.04, but I decided to try
installing the snap as a preview, as https://ubuntu.com/blog/chromium-
in-ubuntu-deb-to-snap-transition suggests. No passwords were available,
making this basically useless, as I rely heavily on the Keyring
integration in Chromium.

~$ apt policy chromium-browser
chromium-browser:

[Bug 1848731] [NEW] Audio output device changes upon unlock/login

2019-10-18 Thread Karl Marks
Public bug reported:

I have a ThinkPad X250 and updated To Ubuntu 19.10 today from 19.04.

Locking/Suspending and logging in changes my audio output device.
This did not happen in 19.04.

 How to reproduce

When I lock my session with key combination "Win+L" and then unlock it again,
the sound that's been playing through my headphones/speakers stops playing.
When I check the audio settings, "HDMI/DisplayPort 2 - Built-in audio" is
selected.
When I select "Headphones - Built-in audio", sound continues playing.

There is no related log output in dmesg.

[Bug 1848492] Re: Change Config Option CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE for s390x from yes to no

2019-10-18 Thread Frank Heimes
Kernel SRU request for changing kernel config submitted:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/kernel-team/2019-October/thread.html#104813
changing status to 'In Progress'

** Description changed:

+ SRU Justification:
+ ==
+
+ [Impact]
+
+ * By default all standby memory that is configured to an LPAR is used at
+ boot (IPL) time.
+
+ * But the standby memory is meant to be added and used on demand later
+ (after IPL).
+
+ [Fix]
+
+ * 0001-Ubuntu-Config-Disabled-CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT.patch
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * Configure an LPAR in it's Activation Profile with a certain amount of
+ 'Initial' memory and some 'Reserved' memory on top.
+
+ * Re-activate the LPAR to make the changes take effect and boot (IPL)
+ Ubuntu.
+
+ * Check with the help of free whether the reported memory is only the
+ initial memory (actual) or initial+reserved (desired).
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * There is a certain regression potential, since some systems may have
+ Initial and Reserved memory already defined today and have it already
+ all in use under Linux (today obviously w/o having it dynamically
+ added).
+
+ * If such a system got re-activated and rebooted, the memory size will
+ then be what's defined as Initial memory and no longer Initial+Reserved.
+
+ * To be able to use the same size of the memory than before, the
+ Reserved memory need to be either dynamically be added or the Initial
+ memory re-configured to the sum of former Initial+Reserved.
+
+ * The latter case requires a re-activation of the LPAR, but since this
+ corner case only happens after a reboot, a downtime is already in place
+ for the re-activation.
+
+ * But overall the regression potential is low since it's for s390x only
+ and the 'Reserved' memory option in the Activation Profile is rarely
+ used.
+
+ [Other Info]
+
+ * In the past this config option was diabled for ppc64el, too.
+ __
+
  The Ubuntu kernel configuration contains
CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE=y for s390.
This causes all standby memory configured for an LPAR to be used at IPL time.

Note that this is definetaly not what a user wants on s390.
The normal process is: define a certain amount of "base" memory which the
system should use when IPL'ed, and define also a certain amount of "standby"
memory which can be (also only partially) be additionaly used when necessary.
Also note that it is *not* possible to add additional memory to a runnung
system, besides the amount of memory specified as "standby".

Therefore please change the kernel config option
  CONFIG_MEMORY_HOTPLUG_DEFAULT_ONLINE to "n" for s390.

[Bug 1848534] Re: [Microsoft Hyper-V guest] System shows graphic artifacts for a moment, then text cursor for about minute and then starts

2019-10-18 Thread M
One thing, which I didn't mentioned earlier:

there is graphic artifact (color on half of screen), then "Ubuntu
loading" dots, then text cursor with delay, then login screen.

I forgotten about "Ubuntu loading" dots.

lspci -k output is empty (even with sudo), the rest is attached.

[Bug 1848680] [NEW] hugetlb tests in ubuntu_ltp failed on B-KVM

2019-10-18 Thread Po-Hsu Lin
Public bug reported:

Failed test cases : hugemmap01 hugemmap02 hugemmap04 hugemmap05
hugemmap05_1 hugemmap05_2 hugemmap05_3 hugemmap06 hugeshmat01
hugeshmat02 hugeshmat03 hugeshmat04 hugeshmat05 hugeshmctl01
hugeshmctl02 hugeshmctl03 hugeshmdt01 hugeshmget01 hugeshmget02
hugeshmget03 hugeshmget05

However, if you run this test suite directly, all these test will pass.
So I think this is caused by some other failures before the hugetlbfs test.

[Bug 1848585] Re: dpdk 18.11.2-4 ADT test failure with linux 5.4.0-1.2

2019-10-18 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Thanks Seth for the report!

The issue is (as usual) a DKMS build against the new kernel version.

I know - and thanks you for that - that you do those checks in advance.
Could you outline the expected timing and target releases for this kernel
(including HWEs) so that I know the deadlines to fix this?

THe 5.4-rc3 at https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.4-rc3/ seems
to lack full headers.
With both packages installed I get broken symlinks like

/usr/src/linux-headers-5.4.0-050400rc3-generic/... ->
../linux-headers-5.4.0-050400rc3
The latter doesn't exist.
Might be the reason for:
ERROR (dkms apport): kernel package linux-headers-5.4.0-050400rc3-generic is
not supported

Do you have another place to fetch a 5.4 kernel for the full DKMS log,
to then identify the upstream patch (if it exists)?

[Bug 1848657] [NEW] libreoffice snap: writer, calc etc do not show as separate icons in the dock (gnome shell)

2019-10-18 Thread rye
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS, fully updated
Libreoffice snap Build ID: libreoffice-6.3.2.2-snap1

Expected behaviour:
LO sub-programs; Calc, Writer, etc show as separate applications in the dock
and via the alt-tab switcher (default switch by application mode)

Observed:
All LO sub-programs are aggregated under a single icon, in both the dock and
alt-tab switcher.
It appears the actual icon used, under which all other subsequently opened LO
programs are grouped, is just the first of the sub-programs opened.

[Bug 1848659] [NEW] 19.10 nfs

2019-10-18 Thread sles
Public bug reported:

Hello!

Trying to install Ubuntu 19.10 from pxe the same way as 19.04:

append initrd=images/ubuntu/19.10d/casper/initrd boot=casper netboot=nfs
nfsroot=192.168.22.101:/opt/pxe/images/ubuntu/19.10d systemd.mask=dev-
hugepages.mount systemd.mask=dev-mqueue.mount systemd.mask=sys-fs-fuse-
connections.mount systemd.mask=sys-kernel-config.mount systemd.mask=sys-
kernel-debug.mount systemd.mask=tmp.mount --

But nfs client says it can't contact nfs 192.168.22.101, i.e. there is
no network.

Bug or we need to add new parameter?

[Bug 1848556] Re: qemu-img check failing on remote image in Eoan

2019-10-18 Thread Max Reitz
Hi,

Could you try the qemu’s master branch?
bfb23b480a49114315877aacf700b49453e0f9d9 has fixed an issue that sounds
very much like this. The problem in that case is that libcurl 7.59.0
changed behavior, so bisecting qemu will not produce results.

[Bug 1848653] [NEW] package zfsutils-linux 0.8.1-1ubuntu14 failed to install/upgrade: installed zfsutils-linux package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2019-10-18 Thread Aaron
Public bug reported:

Did an upgrade from 19.04 to 19.10. Eventually ran into the error:

Errors were encountered while processing:

Exception during pm.DoInstall(): E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error
code (1)

Before I hit this error I had run into a failure in starting the service
to mount ZFS filesystems due to an error about my mount point that uses
ZFS not being empty. Not sure if this is relevant for the main issue
though.

Note that I was able to recover from this by doing a sudo dpkg
--configure -a which then prompted me about what to do for my existing
zfs-zed package. I still got an error in the end indicating that there
were failures during the process but my system seemed stable. A quick
reboot later cat /sys/module/zfs/version shows 0.8.1-1ubuntu12 and all
seems to be well...so far :)

[Bug 1842097] Re: Please remove src:mysql-5.7 from the archive

2019-10-18 Thread Giacomo Pozzoni
Is there any way to upgrade from Ubuntu 19.04 to Ubuntu 19.10 while keeping
MySQL 5.7 ?
I have this requirement as some applications I use are incompatible with MySQL
8.

[Bug 1843392] Re: [snap] smart card reader no longer works

2019-10-18 Thread Andreas Pokorny
My impression was that smart card readers are pretty common and it is
the smartcards that keep changing. So USB access to the smart card
devices class should be enough there.

Being able to add custom/newer pkcs smartcard support modules sounds
like a good idea.

I wonder if that could be something shared across applications? I.e.
Firefox / Opera or other Nodejs Desktop applications that reuse
chromium, will need something similar.

"analog input - built in audio".

Uploaded the alsa-info.txt and the scrennshot.

[Bug 1848653] Re: package zfsutils-linux 0.8.1-1ubuntu14 failed to install/upgrade: installed zfsutils-linux package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1

2019-10-18 Thread Aaron
I take that last part back. The zfs-mount service is failing to start. I
believe I know what caused this whole scenario:

1. I'm running containers on my host, specifically using Docker
2. Many of the containers have volume mounts out to different data sets within
my pool
3. It looks like either Docker was not stopped when I started the 19.10 upgrade
or it was started up too soon during the upgrade. When all of my data sets were
unmounted there were some containers up and running happily writing bits of
data into some of the data sets
4. zfs-mount service fails indicating that the mount point is not empty

What I did to remedy this was to go into my mount point and wipe
everything out that was there. In my case there were directories created
from the container volume mounts, as well as some files within them from
some of the applications coming up and writings logs/config (but then
crashing as everything else was missing). After the cleanup of the mount
point I could start the zfs-mount service successfully, I saw all of my
data sets get mounted, and everything is generally working now.

[Bug 1848688] [NEW] Add Ubuntu 20.04 Focal Fossa

2019-10-18 Thread Łukasz Zemczak
Public bug reported:

[ Impact ]

Several tools rely on distro-info to tell them which releases are available.
This package just contains data, with no format changes.

[ Regression Potential ]

Minimal, if we are only adding new entries. We do this every release.

[ Test Case ]
"ubuntu-distro-info -d" should return "focal" not an error that the data is out
of date.

"ubuntu-distro-info -df" should name the release in full: Ubuntu 20.04
"Focal Fossa"

This package should be released early, without the usual 7-day aging
period.

[Bug 1848556] Re: qemu-img check failing on remote image in Eoan

2019-10-18 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Since it seemed so easy, while bisecting I found that it hangs with
v4.0.0 and v3.1.0 from git and even v3.0.0.

Since the reported good version was 3.1 I began to wonder if I might have
overlooked something.
I wondered if it might be e.g. the apache version providing a different
behavior on http.

I was trying to access the same apache server with 4.0 and 3.1 and ran it
against the download target:
$ qemu-img check
https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/30/Cloud/x86_64/images/Fedora-Cloud-Base-30-1.2.x86_64.qcow2

3.1 ran into a segfault and 4.0 seems to hang on that.
Maybe I should take a break and revisit that later, as people might have an
idea already what this might be about.
