It seems like Ubuntu now freezes when I try to switch to a TTY when
auto-login is enabled and has failed. This also happens with systemd 242
now though, so it must be some unrelated change. I got the log though,
thanks to journalctl saving logs from previous boots, and attached
failedlogin2.txt.
I just upgraded from 19.04 to 19.10 and this happens every reboot, my
default audio switches from my sound card to my HDMI audio output.
This kind of a regression is really going to turn new users off to
Ubuntu/Linux.

This seems to happen during mdadm run, every time a new initrd is being
built.
lsblk doesn't hag.
blkid hangs.
mdadm hangs.

Helped me fix a crash during upgrade - was thrown to login screen with no users
to choose from to login. Going to terminal window (non X) I used the same

option 11n_disable=1 to /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf - now it looks like

I tried verifying this on bionic, but actually I need to look into it a
bit more closely - since after upgrading the system (with a new kernel
from -proposed as well), I noticed that /var/run/reboot-required.pkgs
does not actually list linux-image-* in it, but instead only has a
'linux-base' entry
No such issue with eaon.
