I've same issue with fresh Lubuntu 19.10.
So the user story issue is that the background can't be displayed
correctly. the screen appear frozen in SDDM screen but using Ilya trick
would just display the background in black without resolving the issue.

Public bug reported:
The ppc64el live server installer for 20.04 LTS may not have support for
ZFS on root. (I went through the menus for several minutes without
finding any mention of ZFS.)
Is there a path through the installer that I missed?

In systemd-networkd documentation found that networkd assign different MAC
address to the bridge than physical interface has and this my lead to some
connection issues. To avoid this problems you must specify MAC address to
bridge interface same as on your physical device.
