[Bug 1861070] [NEW] Raspberry Pi 4B: USB OTG is not working
Public bug reported: I am using Raspberry Pi 4B (4GB) and want to make use of the OTG functionality (g_ether). I cross checked with Raspbian to make sure it is not a hardware issue. [Bug 1860645] Re: package winbind 2:4.10.7+dfsg-0ubuntu2.4 failed to install/upgrade: installed winbind package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. On upgrading a service this service has to be restarted to pick up the fixes. Rather rarely a real issue occurs that the newer version does e.g. fail with the formerly working configuration. But most of the time what happens is, that a service was installed, but stays unconfigured or experimented with but left in a broken state. Now on any update of the related packages that service has to be restarted, but since its config is incomplete/faulty it fails to restart. Therefore the update of that package has to consider itself incomplete. Depending on your particular case there are two solutions: - either remove the offending package if you don't want to continue using it. - Or if you do want to keep it please fix the configuration so that re-starting the service will work. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860645 Title: package winbind 2:4.10.7+dfsg-0ubuntu2.4 failed to install/upgrade: installed winbind package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1860645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1860645] Re: package winbind 2:4.10.7+dfsg-0ubuntu2.4 failed to install/upgrade: installed winbind package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Hi Giri, this comes down to something that is special on your system. Either the system itself or some configuration - usually the latter. On package install/upgrade of a service it has to be (re-)started and this is what fails in this case. As the error in your console shows you I'd encourage you start checking out the details you get with: See "systemctl status winbind.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. The default info that was attached isn't sufficient to see much further. You can of course provide what you find when checking the above and one can try to help you here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860645 Title: package winbind 2:4.10.7+dfsg-0ubuntu2.4 failed to install/upgrade: installed winbind package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1860645/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1860483] Re: [nouveau, GeForce 7300 LE] screen background overlaid with scan type artifact in red
Could be. Bug 1860178's write-up seems similar to 1860483. I have been able to use "Settings" in the sda1 install, and switched the background to "black", at which point the raster type corruption in the desktop went away. Now there's occasionally an odd speckled background in the top tool bar, which blanks out to black around the top tool bar icons and text, leaving something that looks like video noise between the leftmost text/dropdown and the day/time text at the middle, and between that middle item and the rightmost icon set. At the same time, there's a little noise speckling on the left tool bar, and a bright narrow vertical line between the tool bar and the desktop region; all that blanks out to black too. The blanking-to-black occurs as the screen cursor is traversed over the tool bars. I am occasionally getting a non-response for item icons associated with sda1 installs, just as I have been with items in sdb1. That kind of looks to me like the system is losing or overwriting the pointer to the app/item associated with the icon. For instance, I still can't get to sdb1's "Settings"; I can click on any one of the "Settings" icons, the activity indicator runs for a short period, stops, and nothing happens. I've waited for a few minutes, up to around 5 or so, just to see if it's a matter of timing, but nothing happens. And frequently, after that happens, other items become non-responsive as well, up to the point where the keyboard and mouse push-button handlers quit responding. [Bug 1861058] [NEW] QLowEnergyService::WriteWithoutResponse has no effect in QLowEnergyService::writeCharacteristic when using bluez dbus backend
Public bug reported: Qt is not utilizing the new option introduced in BlueZ 5.50 that allows choosing write with response or write without response. [Bug 1860961] Re: ubuntu freeze randomly while working
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860961 Title: ubuntu freeze randomly while working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1860961/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1859754] Re: add ucm to make alsa/sof driver work under PA (variants of Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th, Dell cnl and cml machines)
Reply #5: No, the change is not in the 1.2.1 and will not apply to 1.2.1. these confs are ucm1 version, they are only for eoan and bionic. For alsa-lib 1.2.1, the upstream is writing ucm2 confs and it is not finished yet. So let's SRU the ucm confs for eoan and bionic first. And in future the ucm2 conf are not in the alsa-lib anymore, they are moved to https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf. In order to help us enable the dmic on eoan and bionic, Intel is maintaining these ucm1 confs (https://github.com/thesofproject/alsa- ucm-conf.git). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1859754 Title: add ucm to make alsa/sof driver work under PA (variants of Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th, Dell cnl and cml machines) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-lib/+bug/1859754/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: 73.0b10 (64-bit) Ubuntu 18.04 with all updates. This problem started after a recent 'upgrade' to firefox. I've verified this problem using other web browsers that work. About a week ago geolocation from a web site started to fail, so I installed the firefox-next PPA and did get an upgrade to firefox which did correct the problem with gelocation failing. Then on the next update, it started to fail once again. The web site I use to test it is www.repeatermap.us it simply centers you on the map. This no longer works on Ubuntu 18.04/firefox. [Bug 1860775] Re: Desktop froze while watching a video in the browser
** Package changed: gnome-session (Ubuntu) => gnome-shell (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860775 Title: Desktop froze while watching a video in the browser To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1860775/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
