QUrl's behaviour is intentional. The hostname component of the URL has
to be a valid hostname.
Do not store anything in that component that is not a hostname. Like a
workgroup name. Store that elsewhere.

18.04 release and your workaround still fixes it.
Actually spent many hours trying to do this "properly," both directly
and by searching. Nothing worked and found no solution.
Two thoughts:
- The key seems to be modifying the Nau
Noting once again that I am still having this problem. I am worried
because no one seems to be working on it or have any idea how to work
around it (other than by disconnecting the cable from my computer to the
back of my TV when I'm not playing something on the TV screen).

replace it with Debian-stable.

I have no problem on my ubuntu installation.
But this file with another one (or more) of GNU C are still not ready to
be updated.
I am waiting for days now. This situation begins to worry.
