[Bug 1867402] Re: [snap] Icons in file picker are corrupted
I'm also seeing that issue here using Ubuntu 20.04 (Adwaita icon theme) and Kubuntu 20.04 (Breeze icon theme). When switching to the Yaru icon theme fully legible icons are displayed in Ubuntu. A quick test, which might not be totally accurate, shows me that only by selecting Yaru are these icons displayed correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1867402 Title: [snap] Icons in file picker are corrupted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1867402/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0
Andrea, sorry to disappoint you, but I've definitely had this bug even in earlier 5.3 kernel versions (i.e. also on -45), just with a lower frequency. See my comment 24 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1872001/comments/24) for details. Interestingly contrary to others, I haven't had it happen once since I upgraded to your 5.3.0-48-generic kernel. [Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0
According to comment #106 it looks like the bug is still happening also in 5.3.0-52-generic, so maybe we have just reduced the probability to hit the bug. Let's try a different approach. Assuming that the bug wasn't happening in -45 and it started to happen in -46, the bug is likely to be introduced by: 411b24761d28 "drm/i915: Schedue request retirement in execlists_user_end()" that was supposed to fix a power consumption issue. The alternative approach that I would like to try is to revert all the commits that I backported and revert also 411b24761d28. This would re- introduce the power consumption issue, but if we are not hitting the GPU HANG anymore, it would tell us the exact commit that introduced the bug and we can figure out an alternative way of fixing the power consumption problem. So, I've upload a new test kernel (5.3.0-52.46+lp1861395v1) with the changes mentioned above: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~arighi/LP-1861395/5.3.0-52.46+lp1861395v1/ It would be great if someone could give it a try and report if they are still experiencing the GPU HANG bug also with this new test kernel. [Bug 1873052] Re: GNOME 3.36 Lands Scaled/Transformed Hardware Cursors Support and keeps another not scaled cursor mid screen
For anyone else affected by this bug, I've written a script that toggles the scaling mode back and forth to fix the problem and then restore your desired scaling mode on each monitor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- shell/+bug/1875404/+attachment/5361667/+files/xrandr-fix.sh Just set that script to run at login (e.g. by adding it to Startup Applications). Your screen will flicker momentarily on login, since the script is changing resolutions, but then the extra mouse cursor will be gone automatically. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1873052 Title: GNOME 3.36 Lands Scaled/Transformed Hardware Cursors Support and keeps another not scaled cursor mid screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1873052/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1876963] [NEW] Broadcom [14e4:4320] BCM4306 (rev 03) Slow Wifi on Ubuntu Server 20.04
Public bug reported: Hi, I am am experiencing slow wifi for a Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 wireless PCI card with Ubuntu Server 20.04 installed, e.g. apt-get has taken 18 minutes 41 seconds to fetch 459Kb. Following the advice from https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2214110, I have installed the firmware-b43-installer package. The card is recognised and is sometimes allocated an IP. When it is connected, it is very slow. Using the wireless-info tool the logs for the wireless system configuration is given below. As shown in the logs the b43-pci-bridge driver is outputting an error message concerning the swiotlb is full. Has anybody managed to get the Linksys WMP54GS v1.0 card working on Ubuntu Server 20.04 using the b43 firmware supplied in package firmware-b43-installer? Since the log was produced I have also tired setting the REG_DOMAIN in /etc/default/crda but still does not work. ## wireless info START ## Report from: 04 May 2020 09:24 UTC + Booted last: 04 May 2020 00:00 UTC + Script from: 22 Oct 2018 03:34 UTC + # release ### Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Release: 20.04 Codename: focal # kernel Linux 5.4.0-28-generic #32-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 22 17:40:10 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Parameters: ro, maybe-ubiquity # desktop ### sed: can't read /root/.dmrc: No such file or directory Could not be determined. # lspci # 04:04.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. [Bug 1838129] Re: Firefox crashreporter crashed with SIGSEGV in memcpy() when opening links from Visual Studio Code snap
Set back to confirmed. While there have been changes to VSCode, that isn't "Firefox (Ubuntu)". The Ubuntu codebase for Firefox has not received any commits to fix this. [Bug 1873550] Re: Snappy daemon reaches 1min30s timeout during shutdown process
Sorry if I wasn't clear on this, but if you upgraded from 19.10 to 20.04 then AFAIK you will not have gotten the snapd snap at all. The snapd snap will only automatically get installed with a fresh, recent, installation. I don't have a more precise definition of "recent", other than the released images have the snapd snap and some older pre-release ones don't have the snapd snap. Paul, are you saying that you see this slowdown at boot on your installations that were upgrades (and thus don't have the snapd snap, but instead have the core snap)? Also to clarify an earlier point I made, the snapd.failure service does actually get installed with the snapd deb package or the core snap, it just effectively does nothing when the snapd snap is not installed. So the fact that it is run doesn't really affect anything. This bug is just about the fact that snapd is busy doing something when the system goes to shutdown, the fact that the snapd.failure.service not getting queued and thus not running is just a red herring here. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1873550 Title: Snappy daemon reaches 1min30s timeout during shutdown process To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1873550/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

All system gcc packages on my Ubuntu 18.04 system show the same (incorrect) output: g++-5 (Ubuntu 5.5.0-12ubuntu1) 5.5.0 20171010 g++-6 (Ubuntu 6.5.0-2ubuntu1~18.04) 6.5.0 20181026 g++-7 (Ubuntu 7.5.0-3ubuntu1~18.04) 7.5.0 g++-8 (Ubuntu 8.3.0-26ubuntu1~18.04) 8.3.0 Notes: - Re-compiling gcc from source eliminates the problem. - I have not checked any Ubuntu versions other than 18.04. Off-topic note: - this may be a [libpthread bug](https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libpthread-stubs/)? /* Minimal bug-reproducer for gcc on ubuntu */ #include #include #include struct run { const std::function &fn; run(const std::function &fn_) : fn(fn_) {} void operator()() { fn(); } }; int main() { auto fn1 = [](){ printf("fn1\n"); }; auto r1 = run(fn1); auto fn2 = [](){ printf("fn2\n"); }; auto r2 = run(fn2); std::thread t1( r1 ); std::thread t2( r2 ); t1.join(); t2.join(); } ** Affects: gcc-defaults (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1876958 Title: Ubuntu-specific pthread issue To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-defaults/+bug/1876958/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1874939] Re: ceph-osd can't connect after upgrade to focal
I accomplished the upgrade by marking all Ceph packages held, then digging myself through the dependency jungle to upgrade the packages subsequently. This obviously is not a production ready way to do so, but at least Ceph Octopus is running in 20.04 now now. This really needs to be fixed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1874939 Title: ceph-osd can't connect after upgrade to focal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1874939/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
