extension with 'apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions', then enabled it
in gnome tweaks and set the shell theme to yaru-dark. After a few gnome

I've Ubuntu 20 EOAN installed on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. I have connected
an external monitor screen connected to the laptop through the HDMI laptop's
output. The external monitor only works when I go into the BIOS and select
HDMI. However the laptop monitor does not

attempting to use /dev/console (which refers to nonexisting /dev/ttyS0),
having its logging functions unexpectedly return errors, and broking

graphics. If you are OK with the slight disproportion that results in

Thanks again. That one was only running for 15 seconds before the log
ended. I still can't see anything explaining it.
Were you able to log in before it happened or not? If not then maybe try
editing /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncomment the line:
#WaylandEnable=false
so it is:

days.]

It was flaky and now resolved in proposed migration.
But I'd want to understand why we fail 4/5 times.
So the debugging tests in the bileto ticket [1] will go on for a bit.
