init_on_alloc=1 as a default servers Ubuntu users as a security
hardening mechanism, preventing a class of security issues from being
exploitable. Disabling that in general would allow those unknown
vulnerabilities open to be exploited.

zoom is set to 100% it's actually displaying the image at 200%
resolution. To see the image at it's correct size the zoom must be set
to 50%.

After an update and restart, switching desktops feels snappy again.
Looking at htop the cpu usage is still higher than expected. And strace
still shows many errors:

For the record : it crashed today.
I am using a 4k resolution screen at 4k resolution and 200% zoom.
I have set the cursor size to of 31 (as reported by dconf read
/org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size).

The autostart file uses a gsettings key - this will prevent the app
running unless that key is enabled through a shortcut. This assumes
you are running a gsettings enabled desktop environment like Mate,
Budgie or GNOME-Shell.
Possibly there should be a "OnlyShowIn=Budgie;GNOME;Mate" type clause

I downloaded an update to 18.04 and afterword pc would not boot. So I
tried reinstalling Ubuntu using the USB drive. This reinstall is
getting an error, but I could not capture it. Hopefully, the system has
got the information.

success.
I changed a small bit though, from the first proposal (just for consistency):
moved the cryptsetup clean-up script to local-bottom instead of init-bottom.

After logging out and back in the CPU usage seems lower, but without anything
but a terminal open gnome-shell is still the biggest user of the CPU at around
1-2% continuously. After gnome-shell the second highest user is:

there is another small issue with v3d_platform_drm_probe() - when it
gets -EPROBE_DEFER from devm_clk_get(), it doesn't return -EPROBE_DEFER

I am using KODI on Ubuntu and every Video stream I use is hanging after
around 10 seconds. Ubuntu is setup on a Proxmox VM and the GPU is passed
through. I tried to reinstall the driver without any effect. Network
connection is a 50MBit/s line, so should not be the issue.
