[Bug 1892814] Re: pulseaudio bluetooth problems with profiles
Thanks for all that. The first and biggest problem I can see is this USB device: Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) Unfortunately Cambridge Silicon Radio dongles are unreliable and buggy for everyone. I had to learn that the hard way too... So I strongly recommend getting a different brand as a first step. The only remaining concern then is the other wireless dongles on the same machine: Logitech, Inc. LX-700 Cordless Desktop Receiver Valve Software Wireless Steam Controller If replacing the Bluetooth dongle with a non-Cambridge one does not solve the problem then I would try unplugging the above devices. And also moving away from other sources of 2.4GHz interference like wifi access points. But mostly I recommend avoiding dongles that have Cambridge Silicon Radio chips. They are known to cause all kinds of random failures. The only hard part is that you can't tell that's what they are until after you buy one and plug it in :( ** Summary changed: - pulseaudio bluetooth problems with profiles + [Cambridge Silicon Radio] Bluetooth has multiple connectivity issues ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892814 Title: [Cambridge Silicon Radio] Bluetooth has multiple connectivity issues To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/1892814/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1893302] [NEW] SDDM freezes on system boot
Public bug reported: System Info: OS: Ubuntu Studio Groovy Gorilla Description:Ubuntu Groovy Gorilla (development branch) Release:20.10 Kernel: 5.8.0-16-lowlatency CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (16) @ 3.700GHz GPU: AMD ATI Radeon VII Package Info: sddm: Installed: 0.18.1-1ubuntu3 Candidate: 0.18.1-1ubuntu3 Version table: *** 0.18.1-1ubuntu3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu groovy/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status What I expect to happen: After computer completes boot, I expect to be able to select my user, enter my password and login successfully in Plasma Desktop. What happened instead: After computer completes boot, SDDM appears to be frozen. Cursor does not blink in the password field, as it should. Mouse still moves but cannot click any icon. System is not frozen, I can drop to another tty, login, check logs, reboot. This does not happen every time I boot, I have not yet found a way to reproduce the issue reliably, but I would say it happens around 30%~50% of the times I boot. [Bug 1893299] Re: bluetooth connection instability
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1893299/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. Since people might get hit by this problem, I'm including a possible solution to it. WARNING, it will remove most of your packages (and install some) and their configuration. How to somewhat refresh Ubuntu by removing almost all packages and reinstalling ubuntu-desktop: 1. Download the attached file: leftpackages.list 2. Run the following lines in the folder where the leftpackagest.list file is located: rm minimum.list # make list of packages to remove which are not in leftpackages.list dpkg --get-selections | while read line; do if ! cat leftpackages.list | grep "$line" > /dev/null; then echo "$line" | sed -e 's/\([^e]\)install/\1deinstall/' >> minimum.list; else echo "$line" >> minimum.list; fi; done # mark those packages that should be removed sudo dpkg --set-selections < minimum.list # remove them sudo apt-get dselect-upgrade # remove their config sudo aptitude purge '~c' 3. [Bug 1860483] Re: [nouveau, GeForce 7300 LE] screen background overlaid with scan type artifact in red
I have been experiencing a similar problem with a GeForce 7300 GT on a Mac Pro 1,1. I also have visual artifacts in 18.04 and 20.04. With 18.04, there are no artifacts or other problems during installation from a DVD, but when booting the installed system there are artifacts after login and eventually programs start hanging. With 20.04, the installation program itself has artifacts when running off the DVD. Just did a clean install of 14.04.6 and that works fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1860483 Title: [nouveau, GeForce 7300 LE] screen background overlaid with scan type artifact in red To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1860483/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
