Since my last comment my Lenovo E595 laptop has changed configuration
slightly.
1. The BIOS has updated to v1.19.
2. I installed the "linux-image-generic-hwe-20.04-edge" package, which
as I write is an early release of the upcoming HWE kernel from 20.04.2
(kernel v5.8).
With these updates in

Let me give the exact steps once more.
You can get similar results with a different OS, like LMDE, but we'll
stick with Lubuntu for this one.
Boot to the newest beta version of Lubuntu. You can do this on bare
metal, or you can do it in a VM. Wait for the desktop to load.

Hello!
I've just encountered the bug too. I was receiving a snapshot while I was
installing packages in a chroot running on a dataset. Both hung.
I was running 20.10 from the live DVD (downloaded today) with the pre-installed
ZFS version. I don't have access to the exact version numbers right
Hi Federico,
I've prepared some test packages in this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~ci-
train-ppa-service/+archive/ubuntu/4363
Can you maybe try it (they're still building at the moment though).
However give them a try, otherwise maybe you can ping me in IRC (or somewhere
else) so we can try to
Sorry - I see right now that the bug is slightly different:
Mine has the NULL pointer dereference in abd_verify while the above
posted trace shows abd_borrow_buf.

systemd is used in Ubuntu 20.04 for managing services. Some things
still work with the legacy init system but in general you should be
using commands like:
$ sudo apt install docker.io
$ sudo systemctl start docker
$ sudo systemctl status docker
Let us know if that does not work.

I think this one could be due to the newer u-boot - 2020.10+dfsg-1
It's coming into focal dailies because proposed is enabled there, but I also
tried to boot an rpi400 with bionic on an older uboot, then enable proposed and
*only* update u-boot. After updating, I get this boot loop there too.
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
