I am also affected by this bug. Just to be clear, Ubuntu 20.04 works
with a previous version of Linux Kernel right ( <= 4.15)? I can use a
downgraded version of the kernel for now if thats the only thing that

Thanks Herczeg Zsolt. I was able to compile latest kernel with those
settings and it works for my Dell XPS 9700. Except for the headset
microphone. Does anyone else have problems with headset microphone?

The change to use sys.base_prefix has caused a regression in at least
one python snap (Charmcraft). The effect of this change caused core20
python snaps to now revert to using '/usr' base_prefix when looking for

The kernel installation via debs always created the link. Just the
installkernel command which is not part or the kernel packages had the
issue of only moving around the kernel links but not the initrd ones.
The case which I was working on was having a system which only had
kernels install via .deb
Confirmed that the patch needs re-work. So marking all verification
failed.
I've opened an issue in upstream tracker [0]. Submitted the patch
upstream [1]. Once that gets approved, backports to Nautilus, Octopus,
and Pacific to follow.

Still happens on 21.04. sudo systemctl stop fixes
it temporarily on my system. Restarting the computer did not help by the
way. Packagekitd was always starting at boot, not sure why. It works
sometimes though, not much critical and can be fixed by stopping
packagekitd but it always frustrates me.

OK, I was able to reproduce the problem locally in devstack as stated in
comment #3. The patch I proposed does fix it for me, so I am somewhat

do it's work, wasn't doing right, another problem awoken. My USB Dongle
strangely, keeps alternating from 4G to 3G.

1. Deploy Focal on a moonshot ARM64 node
2. Enable proposed, install linux-generic-hwe-20.04 and reboot
3. Install udev package from proposed
It will fail with:
