This time I booted and selected "Try Kubuntu" connected the WiFi and ran
the install by selecting "Install Kubuntu" on the desktop.No errors
encountered.

Testing by trying to execute /sbin/ldconfig within the aarch64 Debian
bullseye chroot on 20.04 amd64 host for all installed kernels is
working, including 5.12.0, the version booted to by default !

First login after upgrade, screen flicked every 6 seconds noticeably

I have just upgraded to the released kernel version 5.11.0-17. The sound
and mic still not working. Is there any chance this is going to be
