in the ppa I get a broken PHP build because some extensions do not
include the shared library. This is on Ubuntu 18.04

Hello, kernel 5.8.0-63-generic #71~20.04.1-Ubuntu works for me. I recall
that the problem for me first occurred under fedora which caused me to
abandon this distribution.

For some reason, apport wasn't able to properly interpret your terminal
output and compose the DpkgTerminalLog.gz file. When I used iconv to
try to obtain a more readable file, I noticed that it's actually
representing an ncurses dialog
