Also, per our old old agreement regarding SRUs of snapd to stable
series, we wanted *every* distro-affecting change (packaging) to be
documented and accounted by explicit manual testing when verifying the
given release. Looking at the changelog, I see that there is a change to
systemd unit

Sorry for the late reply. I finally found the time and HW to test this.
But it works just fine for me. The overlay is loaded by the FW, the fan
spins up and down, ...
