By the way, my video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT and the native

the shutdown Usplash has about 3 bars left, the screen goes to black for
a second and just before my computer shuts down I can see the Usplash
progress bar displayed in correct colors. Maybe it reverted the video

Have you reloaded the repository information after editing the

It seems that we need a sanity check in gnome-app-install to fix this

2006-10-09 Thread Sebastian Heinlein
There is a cron job, that is run as root and daily checks if automatic
updates are enabled. If so it downloads the latest repository
information.

Gnome-app-install should only warn you, if you have changed something in
your sources.list.

Perhaps we will get a dbus interface for the package manager that would
allow passwordless package installation/reloading of repository
infromation for administrative users.

If you don't want to be asked for your password, run sudo visudo in a

[Bug 64798] Screen

2006-10-09 Thread Javier Ruiz
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I don't know if this is a bug in xcompmgr or X itself but if I'm running
xcompmgr -Cc on my computer (the only way to get transparencies as compiz/xgl
does not work on my hardware, a Dell latitude D600 with
an ATI Radeon R250 Lf.

Anyways, using the free radeon driver on the edgy Xorg, everytime I
click on the system menu quit the screen blocks and the only way out is
to reboot my computer.

[Bug 64797] printing uses gimp's default print parameters

2006-10-09 Thread Dirk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Evo: 2.8.1, edgy, patched up to 8Oct06

Evolution does not use the correct paper size when printing. In my case
(A4 paper) it effectively uses the top left hand quarter of the page
(effectively A6).

Actually, looking at this a bit more closely, it appears to be using the
default papersize that my gimp installation is using (4x6 Borderless).

This has been going on here since I upgraded to 2.8.x. In a previous
(can't remember which one), the print size was huge (as in a confirmed
bug), but now the print size is about 8pt (even though I have not
changed things).

[Bug 64796] Incorrect rendering of ttf-alee font

2006-10-09 Thread Sinjo Park
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-selector-common

According to the file /usr/share/language-selector/fontconfig/ko_KR, there
are certain lines that contain EunGuseul, EunGuseul Mono. These fonts are
goverened by ttf-alee package.
However, the package maintainer changed these font name by Guseul, Guseul

[Bug 64787] [Edgy] Most of directory tree missing in Nautilus Konqueror

2006-10-09 Thread angrykeyboarder
Public bug reported:

Recently most of the directories/folders below / are missing in both
Konqueror (Kubuntu) and (Nautilus) Ubuntu.

The only way to get to the missing directories is to know where you
want to go and type the location in the location bar.

This also affects file/save dialogs in both GNOME and KDE.

That in particular has presented a real problem. It's been most apparent
in KDE. Attempting to type the path in the file open/save dialogs often
causes the app (and sometimes all of KDE) to freeze (temporarily and
sometimes to the proint of requring a restart).

This does not affect the console interface. ls -al lists all the
directories as they should be. It just seems to be a (rather odd)
problem in X.

[Bug 64706] Re: Usplash shifted partially off-screen

2006-10-09 Thread Alexander Hunziker
** Summary changed:

- Usplash using wrong resolution and shifted
+ Usplash shifted partially off-screen

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: usplash

- This is on a Laptop with a 1400x1050 screen, on Edgy Beta.
+ This is on a Laptop (IBM Thinkpad T60) with a 1400x1050 screen, on Edgy
+ Beta.

- The Splash screen shows, but the artwork chosen is one for a larger
- resolution (it looks like its 1600 pixels wide) so it doesn't fit
- entirely on screen.
-
- Moreover, the upper left corner of the splash image is not in the upper
- left corner of the physical screen, but maybe 200 pixels lower.
+ The Splash screen shows, but it is shifted so that only part of it
+ shows. The upper left corner of the spash image is shifted toward
+ down/left by roughly 200 pixels each. The part of the splash image that
+ doesn't fit on the screen horizontally (on the right side) is added on
+ the left. The part of the splash image that doesn't fit vertically can't
+ be seen. Technically speaking, it's as if the writing into the
+ framebuffer began at the wrong offset (but this is a beginner's
+ diagnosis...).

[Bug 59801] Re: There is no ADD button to add a network in the connections setting

2006-10-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks for your bug. The UI lists the interface available on the system,
if a device is not supported by linux there is not a lot the capplet can
do with a add button to define it. Marking as rejected, that's not a
gnome-system-tools issue. If you have a network interface not being
listed feel free to provide details on the Ubuntu version you use, the
device, if it's listed by ifconfig, etc

Please consider the following bugfix release:

 glom (1.1.5-0ubuntu1) edgy; urgency=low

   resized smaller again.
 - Related Records:
   - Avoid a SQL error when showing a doubly-related field without showing
the key field that is used in the relationship.
   - Allow the developer to specify to what table the user will be taken
when clicking on the row button, or just use the automatic choice.

However, wayback machines give the date of Nov 2003, which does predate ubuntu:

That doesn't mean that it didn't change its logo. Their logo may was
different, and then they change to Ubuntu's. We all know how this firm
likes stealing artwork..
