The use of linuxprinting.org ppds as a package helped the situation.
However the driver was partially working, and only with the previous
version of cups.
I just found that there is a new driver (one month old), but couldn't
make it still to work. Although the printer is installed, when I try to
similar behavior observed on my x60s, see 65806. it's not just X,
however; second resume triggers a kernel panic that appears to be SMP
related.

I also don't see the list of available wireless networks.
If this won't be fixed I think I will downgrade my laptop to dapper,
because the functionality is very nice. So will there
be no fix for this issue in edgy?

network-admin doesn't scan for networks [regression]
I can confirm that the item does not disappear from the original
submenu, but I've found that it does indeed turn up in the new submenu
ok. But dragging to, say, the Application main menu does not work.
