how is a tester going to be ready to capture a backtrace when a rare

The new 1 button for view modes is totally useless as it needs to be pressed
about one second (an eternity) to be able to change the viewmode. Using the

Hi, yersterday I tried to upgrade my amd64 box from dapper to edgy.
This box is an athlon64 3000+, with a sata HD. When I initially
installed ubuntu (breezy) I set up LVM and eventually upgraded to
dapper. Now the upgrade from dapper to edgy failed.

On my laptop, I am using two screens. With Dapper, everything worked
fine. On Edgy, I have my two desktops working. I can move the mouse from
one to another. But on the second screen, I have no cursor but a big
coloured square (I can move it
It could be that... Desktop in my home is a symlink to a directory on another
ext3 partition. This evening, when I go to home I'll try to create another user
with a local home, and I'll tell you if this happens.

Well it seems most of us (all?) have a VIA chipset, it could have some
relation with the kernel panic, couldn't it?
Sslaxx and me can't boot even with the flags, I noticied his chipset is
KM400, mine is KT400, could be a particular problem...

the printer setted in CUPS and if I try to print with Generic Printer
nothing will be printed.
