[Bug 83930] sync 1.0~rc2-1 from debian/experimental

2007-02-08 Thread Luka Renko
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: basket

Please sync basket 1.0~rc2-1 package from debian experimental:
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/kde/basket

debian/changelog from last ubuntu version:

basket (1.0~rc2-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
- Removed 10_dont_spam_stderr and 11_match_kde3.5.6_kontact,
  merged upstream.
- Fixed offset patch 12_desktop.diff.

 -- Ana Beatriz Guerrero Lopez [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon, 5 Feb 2007
05:05:50 +0100

basket (1.0~beta3-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream version. (Closes: #395900)
  * Package now maintained by the Debian KDE Extras Team.

  [ Ana Beatriz Guerrero Lopez ]
  * Remove unnecessary file debian/Makefile.
  * Update compat to 5.
  * Bumped Standards-Version to 3.7.2, no changes required.
  * Update dep on kdebase-dev to kdelibs4-dev.
  * Add build-dep on kdepim-dev to get kontact integration.
  * Add build-dep on libgpgme11-dev to support encryption.
  * Package description:
- Change short description.
- Add basket's homepage.
  * Not install empty file NEWS.
  * Rewrite debian/rules file.
  * Improve debian/copyright file.
  * Versioned build-deps in kdelibs4-dev and kdepim-dev to build against 3.5.6
(so Sune's changes will work).
  * Patched desktop file to include Categories and moved to right place.

  [ Sune Vuorela ]
  * Add quilt to build-dep - we better need a patch system. This also required
changes to rules.
  * Add a 10_dont_spam_stderr patch to not be that verbose on stderr. It uses
kdDebug() now to report those.
  * Add a 11_match_kde3.5.6_kontact patch to make the kontact plugin work with
kontact 3.5.6 - kdepim people have bumped their internal versionings.
  * Write new and improved manpage (Derived from help2man). (Closes: #405569)
  * Improve copyright file.
  * Minor changes to rules file.
  * Relibtoolization - and a need to fix parts of the build system.
(New libtool put in thru patch 02, patch 03 fixes build system relying on
broken libtool and the big buildprep as patch 98.

 -- Debian KDE Extras Team [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat, 03 Feb
 2007 07:41:48 +0100

Dropped ubuntu changes on 0.6.0 version:
 * man-page section fix: included upstream
 * removed build-dep on kdepim: we can build-dep on kdepim now as we have kde
3.5.6 in feisty

All Ubuntu changes can be overridden.

[Bug 83765] Re: Installation crashes before rebooting

2007-02-08 Thread Fabio
It is the Xubuntu 6.10. (edgy eft)
At the beginning of the installation I choose to install just a minimal console
system.

Another information (maybe can be usefu), Now that the system is
installed, if I issue:

$ sudo reboot,
the last message I see on the screen is:

The system is going down for reboot NOW!

But the system locks there.
The problem is that I want to remotely use this pc as terminal server, and
since I cannot reboot without manually turning off its power, it is a problem
for me.

I have started the Gaim using Valgrind as suggested in the link

Gaim exited very soon now. I am not sure that this is the same crash...
Anyway, I got the bug log.

Just one question: is this the last log I must get for this crash? Is
not there any other debugger software log you could ever need? That
could save a lot of time in subsequent bugs.

Thank you

you can't attach the crash file while filing the bug, nothing prevent

[Bug 83934] 1280x1024 resolution on 1680x1050 monitor

2007-02-08 Thread Johan Walles
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nv

I have a 1680x1050 screen. With the nv driver I get at most 1280x1024
pixels (really stretched out as well since this is a wide screen
monitor). I want to use all 1680x1050 pixels of my screen.

The driver says:

(II) NV(0): Supported additional Video Mode:
(II) NV(0): clock: 119.0 MHz   Image Size:  434 x 270 mm
(II) NV(0): h_active: 1680  h_sync: 1728  h_sync_end 1760 h_blank_end 1840 h_b
order: 0
(II) NV(0): v_active: 1050  v_sync: 1053  v_sync_end 1059 v_blanking: 1080 v_b
order: 0
(II) NV(0): Ranges: V min: 56  V max: 85 Hz, H min: 28  H max: 83 kHz, PixCloc
k max 140 MHz

But in spite of that I later get:
(II) NV(0): Not using mode 1680x1050 (exceeds panel dimensions)

I have attempted adding the following Modeline to the Monitor section. It
didn't help:
Modeline 1680x1050 119.0 1680 1728 1760 1840 1050 1053 1059 1080

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci |grep VGA

[Bug 75681] Re: initramfs script: race condition between sata and md

2007-02-08 Thread Aurelien Naldi
It looks like a race condition is still here: the initramfs tryes to
assemble my RAID upon detection of /dev/sda. Obviously with 3 drives
missing out of 4, it fails... Then, /dev/md0 is not here but inactive
and not correctly created when the other drives are detected.

Is it possible to get and udev event when udev knows that all drives have been
detected ?
I think that the best behaviour looks like:
- upon disk detection, scan for RAID volumes. If a volume is available,
assemble it ONLY if all of its drives are present.
- try to assemble uncomplete (degraded) RAID volumes ONLY when ALL drives have
been detected (i.e. if a drive is still missing, it will _not_ appear later).

This would make it faster without breaking things when a drive is just slow to
answer.
Is it what the udev-mdadm and udev-lvm specs are for ? They seem to only
deal with sending udev events for newly created md/lvm volumes, not about
detecting/assembling them.

accounts are maintained in an active directory (usernames and
mailboxnames differ). I'll be thankfull for any kind of workaround that
could be used to setup evolution instead of this behavior.

[Bug 83939] brltty starts twice on boot

2007-02-08 Thread Henrik Nilsen Omma
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: brltty

Quote from Mike Pedersen:
(originally from bug 80892)

An interesting new development here. Within the past half hour a new version of
brltty was uploaded and added to udev to support the auto detection of braille
displays on boot up. Braille now starts successfully for me. A couple small
problems remain though:
1. brltty attempted to start twice which made an error appear on the braille
display. A press of any key on the braille display dismissed the error.
2. Orca is not currently communicating with brltty so I am currently only able
to read text consoles with brltty. This problem could however be a
configuration error on my part so I'll give more info when I have it.

similar).
The rhyhmtbox and the Gst-launch-0.10 doesn't play the ogg properly, yet. :(

I'm closing this as fixed since the problem is clearly much reduced, and
I'm opening a new bug 83939 for the two issues you mentioned.
