Re: [Bug 61607] Re: 3d rendering performance regression Dapper-Edgy with Radeon 9600 M10
Does your other 3D stuff work? Beryl? glxgears? If this is the only package which is having problems with rendering then I suggest you take it up with the maintainer. Please find my xorg.conf attached. On Fri, 2007-03-02 at 01:54 +, b wrote: I'm still getting the same behaviour with XAA and updating my feisty as of 1 hr ago. I confirm that radeon says its using XAA, I'm getting the same stack trace when closing a window and a just black opengl context. I can provide the code I'm using for testing. Actually I'll test the ubuntu package of that same software to confirm. if you do apt-get install puredata gem Then you can start puredata from terminal like so: pd -lib Gem then if you click on Help - Browser... Then click on gem/ - 01.basic - 01.redSquare.pd Then you get a funny graph, just click on create which will create the opengl context, and then 1 to start rendering. We should see a red square, but we just get a black window. if you press 0 to stop rendering and destroy to close the context, you'll get a segfault in glXMakeCurrentReadSGI from /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 I'm quite certain its the radeon/mesa/dri causing this issue, but I only have feisty on one machine, this powerbook5,2 with ati 9600 card. Shall I get the gem maintainer in on the discussion? I think its Guenter Geiger, but I don't see any maintainer listed on this page: http://packages.ubuntulinux.org/feisty/graphics/gem .b. b wrote: Hi Erik, I'm updating my machine right now, I already tried changing to XAA (before I left the acceleration option unspecified, I guess EXA is the default) but my rendering is still black, so I assume that a version of xorg that is out there now will fix it. [Bug 5364] Re: Can't use static ip address with network-manager
Why importance of this bug is set to wishlist ? AFAIK it's very important problem if users can't establish internet connection if network-manager is installed. Accoring to comments at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412018 this is Ubuntu bugs: Comment #3 from Dan Williams (NetworkManager developer, points: 15) 2007-02-26 12:32 NM actually has some support for static IP settings already, but the distro specific backend has to support it. Fedora, SUSE, and Debian support it. But Ubuntu decided to make NM ignore _any_ interface that you have already configured in /etc/network/interfaces. Therefore, to NM that interface doesn't exist, and you'll get the behavior your see. I've just tried to configure Static configuration (by clicking on network-managet icon in notification area and choosing Static configuration...): 1. In Network Settings dialog I clicked on tab DNS, entered one DNS server, then clicked on Connections tab and then on Wired connection and then clicked on Properties button; 2. entered static IP, netmask, gateway and clicked on OK button; 3. when I clicked on OK button then some progress bar in network settings dialog was displayed for a while, but internet connection wasn't activated when progress bar window dissapers, look at ifconfig output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:16:36:A7:71:DB inet6 addr: fe80::216:36ff:fea7:71db/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 4. then I clicked on the checkbox near the Wired connection (turned off Wired connection), and, after several seconds, clicked on the checkbox near the Wired connection again, and only then my Wired connection with static IP started to work, look at ifconfig output: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ifconfig eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:16:36:A7:71:DB inet addr:192.168.0.66 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::216:36ff:fea7:71db/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 -- Can't use static ip address with network-manager https://launchpad.net/bugs/5364 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
