the tooltips in most programs tend to pop up behind the cursor,

As I understand, that is the ATI fglrx 8.34.8, and is supposed to support the
Radeon x1650 series. So maybe I need to change som parameters?

I get this on both my laptop and my desktop: When I press ctr-alt-
backspace then (f3) to log in and startx for restart the screen behind
my splash graphic appears fuzz almost like chains. I am using NVIDIA
drivers and it happens right after the NVIDIA splash.

The samba/cifs protocol has a part that is dedicated to negociate if
large files are supported or not. The only thing is that the samba mount
command will report itself has not supporting large files unless the
lfs flag is used.

I can confirm this bug on the Feisty beta. It doesn't work most of the
time, but sometimes it does. This only happens in list view (in either

Solution worked, adding note to top! Maybe X needs a wrapper, if it get
the error message it appends the section file and restarts? This will

I had the same issue in a MacBook Core 2 Duo running Kubuntu 6.04 and
after testing several fixes the one which made the kernel boot was
enabling ATA and ATA_PIIX in the kernel configuration. I got the tip in

I am experiencing the same problem. For example, all I wanted to do was
change the mount point for an existing ext3 partition (from
/media/hda[n]) to root partition (/). When I clicked on Edit partition,
the value in the field labeled New parititon size in megabytes was 0.

Argh, forgot to mention that the unmounting actually does work, despite
the error dialog. So the bug is that the error dialog appears for no
reason.
Also, the writing data to device notification bubble never disappears
unless manually clicked on.

After reinstalling portmap it works for me as well in my VMWare test
server. I'll have to install feisty on my desktop again once the
jmicron bug is fixed to verify the pormap issue is completely gone for
me.

I don't understand why there is no reaction from developers to this bug.
That at least some configurations with static IPs don't work anymore in feisty,
with apparently no other workaround that deinstalling network-manager seem like
a serious problem to me.
Also the fact that it worked with
lspci -vv output on Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn Beta Desktop CD.

It will be in feisty repos soon. Main is frozen for beta ISO roll outs and soon
after that feisty will have it. Im also pretty sure edgy will get it soon after
that.
I am going to close this bug as they are built already and just waiting for
main to unfreeze.
