I concur. Using Feisty Fawn, /usr/local/lib is still not a part of the
ld.so.cache.
Usual Linux semantics is the distro packages go into /usr/lib while
third party builds go in /usr/local/lib.
Creating and adding /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf.d/local.conf and
rerunning ldconfig will solve

The problem seems to be indeed related with GL_MAX_TEXTURE_SIZE = 2048 even
with a 2048x768 setup.
Corruption happens when 3D stuff goes out of the screen limits (eg. desktop

Daniel, my friend have the same problem.
The problem is that apache2-mpm-prefork require apache2.2-common and
this package (common) try to remove apache2-common but when try to stop
apache service there is a

it (apt-get -f install) fixed the problem. No idea why this happened.
