[Bug 110152] Re: vim-gtk install failed in feisty (7.0.4)
I had the same issue trying to (re)install vim-perl after a dist- upgrade. FYI, I can confirm that forcing the old versions of vim-gui- common, vim-common, and vim-runtime in Synaptic allowed me to reinstall vim-perl. However, I noticed this... $ sudo apt-get update /dev/null; apt-cache show vim-perl | grep Version Version: 1:7.0-164+1ubuntu7 ... but packages.ubuntu.com lists the most recent version as 1:7.0-164+1ubuntu7.1 (And after redoing the dist-upgrade, I manually downloaded and install the .deb with dpkg -i with no errors.) Since vim-perl and vim-gtk, but not the prerequisite vim-* packages, are in universe, I wonder if this might be (for me at least) a configuration issue with my sources.list. [Bug 86234] Re: 2 swap partitions each mounted twice in 2.6.20-8
I can confirm this, replacinf UUID with the /dev entry in fstab works. Also replacing dbus from 7.04 Feisty with dbus (1.0.2-5ubuntu1) gutsy does the job. So updating feisty with the gutsy dbus package will be a solution for a bugfix upgrade. Thank you yurtos for the bug report, however this report lacks information we need to investigate it further. Of course this is not your fault, but the coredump attached to your report doesn't provide useful information for us. Probably because the type of crash you described that affected the whole system has made several apps to crash at the same time more as an artifact than a firefox own failure. For this reason, we are now going to close the bug - please feel free to reopen when you have more information at hand. This last hour the most frequently by far. Last time was clicking the registration link from the email from this site.. almost put me off. I'm new to Linux so don't know the best way to capture useful data on this. [Bug 84603] Re: Hard disk I/O randomly freezes when hald is running and optical drive is empty
If i do this trick my hard drive is also recognised as the old fashioned /dev/hdaX but DMA is off and it is impossible to turn it on! I would like to have the denomination /dev/hdaX because when the system recognise my disk as a SATA it make a weird noise when it turn off! That's why i would like to have it recognised as a ATA drive WITH the DMA! [Bug 106887] Re: ALERT! does not exist at boot with ICH7
Here is a debdiff for the new grub package. The mem_lower patch is used by Mandriva and Red Hat. I found it mentioned on the grub mailing list (http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg06526.html) One that I think is very useful is the grub-0.92-mem_lower.patch, it is relatively simple, and will allow grub to boot some computers where only lilo and syslinux were booting, basically, this patch checks early if grub will fail, and in that case, use a memory detection code almost indentical to syslinux. ** Attachment added: debdiff for 0.97-20ubuntu7 with mem_lower patch http://librarian.launchpad.net/7847364/grub_0.97-20ubuntu7.debdiff ** Tags added: patch -- ALERT! does not exist at boot with ICH7 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106887 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
