[Bug 85488] Re: some usb_devices fault if usb_suspend enabled

2007-06-24 Thread Andrew Jorgensen
Thanks for the links I can see now that this really has been thought
out. I still wonder how rare the problem actually is, and if
manufacturers are likely to continue making broken devices, but maybe
suspend really does save enough power to be worth the grief.

fcitx on XIM works. So it must either be a problem with how the KDE Text

[Bug 121951] Adding files to Serpentine doesn't work

2007-06-24 Thread Jamu Kakar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: serpentine

I tried adding files three ways:

1. By clicking on the + Add toolbar icon. This brings up a file
chooser dialog which I used to select the MP3s I want to burn to a
CD. Clicking Open didn't result in any change. In fact, after
that the dialog is frozen and can only be closed by clicking the
   title bar X button.

2. By using the Edit-Add menu item. The result were identical to #1.

3. By dragging and dropping the files I wanted onto the Serpentine
track listing area. This caused the pointer to change to an
arrow-with-a-plus-symbol that led me to believe the operation
should work; however, it didn't result in any noticeable change in
   the application.

I tried doing the same procedures one file-at-a-time and also with
FLACs as well as MP3s. It looks like this bug makes Serpentine
unusable. :(

I'm running an up-to-date (x86) gutsy install.

I'm marking it as mt-needtester to check if it can be reproduced.

Please, checkforg, would you try to reproduce in safe mode? that is by
launching firefox from a terminal as: firefox -safe-mode

I have attached the crash report. Unfortunately it didn't work to
generate a backtrace from it. It says CoreDump: No such file or
directory, so apparently if was a segfault without a coredump.

W/o the core dump we cannot do much. Maybe you can follow the steps in
[1] to obtain a backtrace.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately we can't
fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You
may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively [WWW]
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. [WWW]
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 121014] Re: firefox-bin crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-06-24 Thread Hilario J. Montoliu \(hjmf\)
Thank you discernir for submitting this report.

Could you please try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions
on [1], or upload the crash report that probably was generated during
the crash and that should be located at /var/crash/ to [2].

Please indicate which extensions/plugins do you have enabled; and if
this crash is reproducible describe the steps that lead to it (it is
very important for us to have a test case for each crash).

This will greatly aid us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 121472] Re: On some website dropdown flash menus covers the entire area below the menus with a white box.

2007-06-24 Thread Justin Payne
I can confirm this, I actually visited the same webpage and had the
exact look as the reporters' screenshot. I'm on Gutsy, and was using
Opera 9.21 . Build 641 for Linux, a list of currently installed plugins
is attached (Flash is 9). Given the fact it's between the two browsers,
I'm sure that the flash assignment is the best route to go.

Any more info needed, please let me know; I've duplicated it twice, once
with firefox 2.0.0.4 and the aforementioned browser.

[Bug 118745] Re: default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small

2007-06-24 Thread Tim Hull
On my system (13 inch MacBook - dual-boot installed w/Boot Camp), this appears
to detect the DPI correctly. as being 112 dpi.
However, the resulting fonts, when using my display's native 1280x800
resolution, are huge. I think the issue may not necessarily be the
wrong DPI being detected - it's that the font is a bad size with the right DPI
selected! In the meantime, I've reverted to the Feisty settings
(96 dpi, 10 pt font in Gnome), and everything looks normal again.

[Bug 121953] Epiphany can't open links in a new tab

2007-06-24 Thread bj mccormick
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany

After years of using Firefox, I expect links to open in new tabs.
Instead I get a new window. The best example is if you click on a story
at digg.com... I think I would get the desired effect if I middle
clicked on everything, but this laptop does not have a middle clicker.
It also seems that epiphany does not obey the about:config and instead
uses gconf. about:config has the prefs in there that should get the
desired effect.

I propose that Epiphany should at least be given a working gconf option
to allow all links to open in tabs.

[Bug 49127] Re: Long file names are truncated without warning

2007-06-24 Thread Mario Đanić
Do you still experience the same problem in gutsy? If I remember
correctly what I did in libisofs is that the truncating algorithm starts
by truncating extension, but keeps minimum of 3 chars, and then moves to
the name. This seems like a mkisofs-related problem, but n-c-b should
probably display the renaming dialog as mentioned in the upstream bug.
