It looks like the workaround found by Jared offers you a one-time only
opportunity to upgrade.
For me, it worked the first time I tried, but I didn't have the time to
do the upgrade at once. But when I came back to do the upgrade, the
button was gone, no matter that my

For other hotkeys, yes, the laptop has those multimedia keys for
launching email, web browser and other apps... but they don't work as of
this kernel (IIRC with Feisty those keys where working, but I
don't/didn't use them

I would like to add that today I tried to download from the phone a
large file (344Mb) in Printing media mode and it did not work. For a
long time the KDE's copy window said that the copying is Stalled then
the window just disappeared without copying anything. Only small files
can be downloaded.

It's not clear to me: was it your touchpad or your usb bluetooth mouse that
stopped working while doing the above dmesg and Xorg logs?
If I understand correctly if you logout and login again your mouse/touchpad
stops working, is this right?
Please also provide a before and after log off

Use the command ' echo mem /sys/power/state' to go to S3, system can be
back after that. but from menu, 'system - Quit - Suspend', the system can NOT
come back after it suspend.
so I think the issue is still exist.
