The only ubuntu change was a new upstream version, and a higher version is now
in debian, so we can sync this package. It builds fine in a gutsy pbuilder.

I have found the source of the problem. It would be that in linux you
are allowed to end folder names with a space and other operating systems

Broken output on Mac Mini (Radeon 9200)
Booting Feisty Live CD with a Dell 2005FPW (1680x1050) and a DVI-to-DVI now
works wonders!
I tried also a Dell 2407FPW (1920x1200) and it works fine too, so I'm closing

Does it happen during an update/upgrade ? what version of mlt was previously
installed ? and did you install mlt from a third-party repo, eg.
debian-multimedia ? Your log is saying that it's to trying to replace a file
I have been seeing the same symptoms. I was at first unable to
reproduce it reliably, but I found that button-mashing (like repeating
the home keys: asdf;lkj) while in unicode-input mode (scim) would
crash it quickly. Actually, it doesn't crash, it just locks up. I have
to then kill it manually

I believe this is not a problem with compiz.wrapper, but of the user's
configuration.
The way echo is used in compiz.wrapper requires a POSIX compatible shell.
In Ubuntu and Debian /bin/sh can be a symbolic link to any POSIX compatible
shell (see the Debian Policy manual chapter 10.4).
