This is a duplicate of another bug (#189398). The problem is due to the new
kernel wanting to load the cryptographic modules like padlock_aes and
geode_aes. To solve it, just put them in the blacklist. In this way the generic
AES module gets loaded and wifi works. Hope it solves your problem

Yeah I am still using the machines in question for pretty heavy I/O load
(they are dedicated storage servers for an OpenVZ cluster). They are
running RAID5 from the card. Can't remember the specs on it, if I could
run the CLI tool I would tell you. But its a definite regression in that

working system. But is still far cry from Mac OS X performance.
According to kernel developer¹, kernel resume takes 1-2 seconds. So

Did you have a look at bug #173519? Some of us are getting random lid
closed events (I suspect whenever thermal events are triggered) and the
behavior is exactly what you describe.
