[Bug 199754] [NEW] package mod_auth_cas please

2008-03-08 Thread Craig
Public bug reported:

Can someone please package mod_auth_cas? The package name would be
libapache2-mod-auth-cas.

CAS is a popular centralized authentication provider. We're considering
using at the company I work for, and I bet a bunch of other companies
(as well as many universities - I know UConn and VA Tech do) use it as
well. Here's a link to this module's home: http://www.ja-
sig.org/wiki/display/CASC/mod_auth_cas

This seems like the packaging effort would be low - someone has already
packaged it for debian: http://michele.pupazzo.org/diary/?p=277

Thank you!

The spreadsheet shows up as 00:32:00 even in Excel, at least in Excel

buggy and should use the [HH]:MM:SS form in OpenOffice and some other

[Bug 199756] [NEW] Clock Applet crashes GNOME when trying to add Wichita-McConnell AFB to locations

2008-03-08 Thread William Fagan
Public bug reported:

Hardy Heron (Mar 8th, 2008)

Click on clock applet. Click on Edit next to Locations. Click Add. Click
Find... Type in Wichita. Click Find Next. Select Wichita-McConnell AFB.
Click OK. It ends up crashing GNOME and restarting it.

[Bug 180219] Re: Internal hyperlinks nonfunctioning in openoffice table of contents when exported to xhtml

2008-03-08 Thread Chris Cheney
Are you sure that the ODT document you attached has hyperlinks in it?
When opening it in Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 the
ODT file has no apparent hyperlinks in it.

Thanks,

Chris Cheney

[Bug 132992] Re: [gutsy] rhythmbox cannot load UPnP plugin: python-louie package missing

2008-03-08 Thread psernetz
I've done a complete reinstall of Hardy Alpha 6 and all the plugins are
installed automatically. When I try to activate the Upnp plugin in
still says failed. I think this is not a good behavior. You're
presenting a clean installation which fails to work in some parts.
You've got two choices, don't install the upnp plugin automatically or
install python-louie (which is in hardys repos).

[Bug 189229] Re: [Upstream] [hardy] Starting BOM in HTML is treated as text

2008-03-08 Thread yecril71pl
Chris, the title as you entered it makes the bug invalid.
There is no harm in treating the BOM as text since it is a white space
character (although HTML does recommend dropping it altogether).
The problem is it is incorrectly decoded and the resulting representation
contains garbage.

Sadly what appears to be a Launchpad bug is stopping me from setting the

keeps telling me adding a bug watch to ubuntu is not possible, and
this is already a bug in gnome-panel. When all I want is to add the

[Bug 186869] Re: Can't change field types

2008-03-08 Thread Loïc Minier
Certainly you can understand that a bug report on a random package is
not the place to put in question a process as critical as stable release
updates.

I understand the upstream Glom developers are responsible enough to do
high quality stable releases, nevertheless the current SRU process
requires a minimal patch, typically something which a human can review
and where one can claim it is a completely understood and safe change.

Perhaps this process is too strict for Glom in particular and we
certainly bend the process a little for GNOME point releases for
instance, but keep in mind there are also other mechanisms to bring new
releases to stable users (e.g. backports) if you don't want this
particular problem to be fixed.

My suggestions would be to:
- discuss the strictness of the SRU process with the Ubuntu developers at
large; I believe this shouldn't happen in a bug report or on your blog, but
rather on the Ubuntu mailing lists; perhaps ubuntu-devel-discuss@ or
ubuntu-devel@
- in this bug, prepare a minimal patch or wait for someone to create one
addressing only the grave issue you mention which requires a SRU

so I grabbed the latest 1.6 release (1.6.6 currently) and compared to
the one in gutsy (1.6.0).

The diff exposes:

2) addition of a maemo port and subsequent bug fixes

4) implementation of new build flags --enable-maemo, --enable-maemo-
launcher and --enable-client-only

5) new logic for computation of the required pkg-config modules

6) misc code changes and bug fixes

[Bug 199763] [NEW] usplash.conf sets wrong resolution and causes blank colored boot screens

2008-03-08 Thread fuoco
Public bug reported:

With hardy I have a problem that framebuffer screens (boot up and down) were
displaying blank colored screens cycling through different colors. I found out
that was because usplash.conf that was there by default set the resolution to
640x480. When I changed it to 1024x768 (Native resolution) the boot splash
screens are displayed OK. I also had to update the initramfs of course.
This is on an iBook G4 laptop with a radeon card (r300).

[Bug 191363] Re: Cannot open MS Excel file directly from USB in MS Excel

2008-03-08 Thread Marius Groenewald
If I use the wine exel.exe
/media/myusbdevicethatisgivingmetrouble/myexelfile.xls command, nothing
happens. My mouse pointer changes to the Wine logo for a while,
indicating that the PC is busy processing the request, but that's all.

Is this problem already escalated to the Dolphin guys or Wine guys, or
must I report it to them separately?

I have also tried every version of Suse linux from 10.0 to 10.3 and I have had
nothing but trouble with all of them. Graphics problems, sound problems,
internet problems, mouse problems, keyboard problems, in fact too many problems
to make it worth my while bothering with. I actually found a live cd of 10.3
just this week and tried that out - it wouldn't even run. I'm glad it works
for you though.
I am using Mandriva 2008 at the moment and that at least shuts it down
sometimes.

This is a modern laptop I have here, about 18 months old. It uses acpi
not apm, so I don't think that is the answer.

Peter,

Yes, this was with very very recent updates. We changed optimizations to try to
pull some more performance from the general class of CPUs people were using.
We'll have to drop back down to what we had before I suppose.

[Bug 199770] [NEW] I get two interfaces for my wireless card

2008-03-08 Thread Carlos Perelló Marín
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu Hardy, with the iwl3945 driver, my wireless card appears as
two different cards:

The one that works is wlan0_rename, which is originally wmaster0_rename, but
network manager renames to wlan0_rename.

I expect to get a single interface for it, instead of two of them.

With the old ipw3945 driver this didn't happen.

Public bug reported:

mangled. Either the ends of words are being chopped up, or there's some German
mixed into the English lectures. Examples:
salesladie
latencie
se
distinctivel
syllabicatin
amazo
fizze
pygm
summariz
metaphysicall
psychoanalyticall
heavyse
fraye
mestizo
yashmak
yukk
hygromete
glamoriziatio
synthesi

I'm using Hardy.

[Bug 198104] Re: mythbackend crashed with SIGILL in NetInterfaceTrafficStats::NetInterfaceTrafficStats()

2008-03-08 Thread Anders Kvist
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 198115 ***

Why drop down? I think the best way would be to maintain two sets of
functions one optimized and one without...and runtime CPU detection.

[Bug 199754] Re: [needs-packaging] mod_auth_cas

2008-03-08 Thread Iulian Udrea
** Summary changed:

- package mod_auth_cas please
+ [needs-packaging] mod_auth_cas

** Description changed:

Can someone please package mod_auth_cas? The package name would be
  libapache2-mod-auth-cas.
+
+ mod_auth_cas is an Apache 2.0/2.2 compliant module that supports the
+ CASv1 and CASv2 protocols.

CAS is a popular centralized authentication provider. We're considering
using at the company I work for, and I bet a bunch of other companies
(as well as many universities - I know UConn and VA Tech do) use it as
  well. Here's a link to this module's home: http://www.ja-
  sig.org/wiki/display/CASC/mod_auth_cas

This seems like the packaging effort would be low - someone has already
  packaged it for debian: http://michele.pupazzo.org/diary/?p=277

  Thank you!
