other Kubuntu64. I can only use the nv driver. With the NVIDIA-driver I
get the same issue with VESA and so on. With startx I get the message as

Calc and it didn't display the corrupted line, so the bug is in the

I am able to reproduce this as well. This is on a Dell XPS M1330 with
nvidia GeForce 8400M GS. I am using the nvidia-glx-new drivers and I
have compiz disabled.

X server crashes when browsing a certain
I have the same problem with my Radeion 9550 using fglrx driver. After
I desabled fglrx and switched to use Open Source ATI driver the problem
has gone. Thus the problem without any doubts in fglrx driver.
I've not tried the patch mentioned above yet, since I've just learned
about it. I'll give
