My attempt to upgrade hung at samba-common. After restarting the system
boots, accepts user-name and password, but once desktop is up, keyboard
is no longer decoded properly (some keys send nothing, others
gibberish). Mouse still works.

blank, it already had an UDF file system. The problem seems to be that
it cannot be read properly (all the I/O errors), which might indicate a

I'm not sure if my issue is the same, but if i log out of the only
active account, I get a black screen, with evidently no way to get back
to X. Soft reboot is not possible, so far as I can tell. If I have two
accounts open and log out of one, I get the login screen, as I imagine I
should.

Same problem here, with an Ati x1600 card and the fglrx drivers...
(Besides the strange colors everithing is moving here up and down a few
pixels every few seconds)

information and correctly marked package for what causes this problem.

I have same kind of problem in Hardy Heron. My hardware is Asus M2N-VM
SE and with Samsung 24BW digital flat panel (1920x1200). It worked well
with Gutsy Gibbon.

So, since the -19 kernel does not fully fix the issue, the bug status is still
in progress... However, I think it's wrong that the importance is still
undecided...
