The workaround is very simple. Just change the rights of the smb.conf file. The
group should be adm and the rights for the group should be set to rw. In
commands:
sudo chgrp adm /etc/samba/smb.conf
sudo chmod g+w /etc/samba/smb.conf
Then it works for me.
And yes, IMHO it is a bug in the swat

I ran into the same problem with installing 8.04.1 server onto a USB

it would take only with the file. Do you know any ways to know the audio
codec of that video file so you can request it to be added to gstreamer

Ubuntu 7.10 - I can enter Ubuntu with my password (as usual) but
suddenly the terminal does not accept sudo / su anymore. I tried to
change my password but that is impossible too.

I've installed gwenview, libkipi5, libexiv2-6 and digikam-kde4.
Installing kipi-plugins tries to uninstall gwenview, digikam-kde4 and libkipi5.
It tries to install libkipi0 en libexiv2-3.
The problem is more specific: kipi-plugins needs libkipi0. Libkipi0
conflicts with libkipi5 and libkipi5 is

The dependencies should get installed now, however one of the dependencies
(recommendation really) (libsexy) is still not in the repository. However that
is already filed as another bug.
Also the current version works out of the box, also without that
recommendation. Therefor I mark this bug as
