[Bug 275608] Re: nm-openvpn swaps ca and cert in openvpn commandline
OK I think I got it. When using authentication type Password with Certificate (TLS), the two labels CA certificate and User certificate are swapped. If you click on the corresponding file selector, the file selector dialog window name correctly shows Choose a Certificate Authority certificate... and Choose your personal certificate It is just the labels that are shown in the wrong order. Reproduction: Create a new VPN. Select authentication type Certificate (TLS). Select : User Certificate: user.crt CA Certificate: ca.crt Private key: user.key Switch to authentication type Password with certificate(TLS). You get: User name: empty CA Certificate: user.crt User Certificate: ca.crt Private Key: user.key Clicking on user.crt to correctly shows the file selector dialog box with title Choose your personal certificate Expected results: When switching to authentication type Password with certificate(TLS). You should get: User name: empty User Certificate: user.crt CA Certificate: ca.crt Private Key: user.key ** Changed in: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High Status: Incomplete = Confirmed ** Summary changed: - nm-openvpn swaps ca and cert in openvpn commandline + nm-openvpn swaps ca-cert and user-cert labels when using Passwords with Certificate (TLS) mode -- nm-openvpn swaps ca-cert and user-cert labels when using Passwords with Certificate (TLS) mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275608 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openvpn in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Answering to PiedPiper: Configurations, Interfaces and Endpoints are the basic structures of an USB device. You can't limit or mess with those things, else the device will simply not work. As comparison, it is like limiting the number of legs that a horse (or maybe any animal) can have. You can't do that. And about this bug being related to USB hubs... All I can say is that some hubs can help to trigger or solve the problem (I guess), but I think this bug also happens on devices connected directly to the host controller. -- ehci_hcd module causes I/O errors in USB 2.0 devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88746 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 125182] Re: playback of flash videos skips frames when transitioning to the next song.
Workaround: If someone really wants to use Kaffeine instead of VLC or Totem to play FLV videos (like me), it's possible to configure Kaffeine to use the GStreamer engine. 1) Install the GStreamer engine: sudo apt-get install kaffeine-gstreamer 2) Go to Settings - Player Engine, and select Kaffeine-GStreamer. 3) Go to Settings - GStreamer engine parameters, and set 'alsasink' as the preferred audio driver and 'xvimagesink' as the preferred video driver (if you don't configure the latter, the video appears in a separate window). 4) Restart Kaffeine. Almost forgot, the volume bar moves to the top of the window after doing this (I don't know why, it'd be nice to work on that), you can move it to the botton again if you wish. -- playback of flash videos skips frames when transitioning to the next song. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/125182 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 123282] Re: LDAP fails. Says it can't find the server, but the server is there and spelled correctly. Works in Windows. Problem is probably with the authentifiaction.
Remember that sometimes DNS is not properly setup. In my organization the computer dept has a mixed setup of resolving IP addresses via DNS and via SMB/NETBIOS/WINS or something samba-related. I had this exact problem until I tried to ping the address book server from my linux machine, telling me it couldn't be found. From a windows machine it was found. One of the internal webservers are set up the same way - only windows-IP-resolution works, not DNS. Solutions: a) Setting up samba and make it resolve addresses for you might help the situation. If this works it's probably best because it mimics whatever windows does, and in my case the computer department mostly think windowsy. b) or, you could add the address book server IP address to /etc/hosts, like I did and it works like a charm. If you go to Evolution Prefecences, the exchange account and under Receiving options find global catalog server name to be nooslse002.sonnico.local, you need to find out the IP address of that server. I just ran ping nooslse002.sonnico.local on a windows machine. Now add that address to your /etc/hosts file: 127.0.0.1 localhost 32.8.8.70 nooslse002 nooslse002.sonnico.local Bob should now be your uncle. He was in my case; I didn't get the LDAP authentication failed and when I composed a new message, the lookup effectively worked. This will break when computer department changes the IP of the global addressbook server. They probably won't, but we're aware of Murphy's law. [Bug 161960] Re: Add function to WinKey button on keyboard
In Windows, you have a much more generic menu. When the Windows-user presses Super-L, is he looking for a file, the control panel or an application? Does he want to shutdown the system? There is a very good Vista menu clone for Gnome. Perhaps we should use that, because that's the menu that most people will be familiar with in a few years. Most people are also accustomed to having the clock and systray in the lower right corner. We can easily move them there. Actually, why not just use a single panel? After all, that's what people are used to. If we switched to a more generic menu like Slab or the previously mentioned Vista-menu clone, it might make more sense to the same keyboard shortcut, but we don't. -- Add function to WinKey button on keyboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/161960 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 276203] [NEW] Kaffeine problems when using the GStreamer engine
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kaffeine Distro: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release:8.04 Binary package: kaffeine (0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1) Source package: 0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kaffeine/0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1) kaffeine-gstreamer version: 0.8.6-0ubuntu8.1 Kaffeine has problems when playing FLV files using the Kaffeine-Xine engine (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xine-lib/+bug/125182) so I proposed a workaround using the Kaffeine-GStreamer engine (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xine- lib/+bug/125182/comments/8). But when I apply this workaround, the player misbehaves (the player doesn't do the following things when using the Xine engine): - The volume bar goes from the bottom of the screen to the top after the engine change (but it's easy to drag it again to the bottom). - When opening any video file from Nautilus, the player doesn't switch automatically to the Player Window (remains on the Start Window, it does switch when using the Xine engine). The option Don't switch to player window in the Playlist menu is unchecked. This happens even if I click the Stop button and then the Play button. It's necessary to click on the Player Window tab to watch the video. - In the Behavior section of the player options, I've checked 'Pause video when window is minimized'. Video is paused when I minimize the window, but it doesn't resume automatically when the window is restored (with the Xine engine it does resume when the window is restored). It's necessary to click the Pause button to resume. Please tell me what other information can I provide. ** Affects: kaffeine (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Kaffeine problems when using the GStreamer engine https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/276203 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
