[Bug 216358] Re: Samba crashes repeatedly to assert_uid
Steve, this could not be normal - in /etc/security/limits.conf there is no limit configured, and I dont know, but could it be unlimited as default in Ubuntuty Hardy ? Commenting out panic-action does not solve the problem, because it only prevents the mail and not the action. smbd still crashes and the users got the windows messages that their network drives are not available. Just a few minuts ago I had crashes after crashes and have to shut down samba and restart it, so I commented out the panic action but it smbs still crashes. Memtest shows now error with the memory and the rest of the system is running fine. There is still this strange samba behavior. -- Samba crashes repeatedly to assert_uid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216358 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 275608] Re: nm-openvpn swaps ca-cert and user-cert labels when using Passwords with Certificate (TLS) mode
0.7~~svn20080928t225540-0ubuntu1 revamped that panel. The issue still exists, the patch needs adaptation. Reproduction: Create a new VPN. Select authentication type Certificate (TLS). Select : User Certificate: user.crt Certificate password: (empty) CA Certificate: ca.crt Private key: user.key Switch to authentication type Password with certificate(TLS). You now get: User name: (current user name) Password: (empty) CA Certificate: user.crt User Certificate: ca.crt Certificate password: (empty) Private Key: user.key Since a password box now appears just below User certificate, inverting labels is confusing (the password box applies the user certificate, not the CA one). The proposed patch is to inverse file selectors rather than labels, resulting in : User name: (current user name) Password: (empty) CA Certificate: ca.crt User Certificate: user.crt Certificate password: (empty) Private Key: user.key which is correct. -- nm-openvpn swaps ca-cert and user-cert labels when using Passwords with Certificate (TLS) mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/275608 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openvpn in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

This bug is about incompatibility with servers that negotiate weak password encryption for connections, and it has been worked around by a change to the default settings for samba in Ubuntu 8.04. If your problem was fixed by the patch from bug #207072, then your problem is unrelated to this bug report. -- SMB error: Unable to mount location when server configured with security=share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209520 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 279316] [NEW] SRU for bind9 to 9.4.2.dfsg.P2 on hardy
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bind9 This update is an upstream microversion update that fixes bugs #252675. ISC has described this update as: This is the SECOND security patch for BIND 9.4.2, addressing performance and stability issues in BIND 9.4.2-P1. Key features are as follows: - performance improvement over the P1 releases, namely + significantly remedying the port allocation issues + allowing TCP queries and zone transfers while issuing as many outstanding UDP queries as possible + additional security of port randomization at the same level as P1 In addition to the above, this update includes fixes for bug #257682 (compile dig with -DDIG_SIGCHASE) and an apparmor addition to allow access to /var/log/named The apparmor policy and dig changes have minimal regression potential. The upstream upgrade to P2 is required for for high volume sites, as performance regressions were introduced in the security update for CVE-2008-1447 in these circumstances. Intrepid has these updates in the 9.5.0 P2 series There is no practical test case for the performance regression, other than using it in a very high volume capacity. Yes, it is loaded automatically on boot time and it is used by the modules pcmcia_core and pcmcia (as lsmod shows). [Bug 276594] Re: New default Intrepid wallpaper is green
Adding colour to an Ubuntu wallpaper is _not_ the problem. Anyone who considers adding colour to Ubuntu a bug should be sentenced to at least four years of design study in the area of colour theory. Please be mature enough to realize that publishing a bug such as this will effectively set us back to the monochromatic Ubuntu years. By presenting this as a bug and dimwittingly agreeing to it, you are _not_ moving Ubuntu's art and design ahead. There are extremely high profile people at Ubuntu who firmly believe that adding colour to Ubuntu confuses the palette. The poor execution present in this wallpaper should _not_ be used as an I told you so. This wallpaper has far more significant problems than the colours. Ubuntu needs _more_ colour in its presentation, not less. It _does_ require well planned and executed colour however, which this wallpaper may be accused of suffering from, among other ailments. Disabling and enabling the network cures the problem as so does removing and modprobing again sky2 module. -- Sky2 ethernet failing randomly with Marvell 88E8056 gigabit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138611 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 239072] Re: Driver manager doesn't detect correct drivers for 8800M
You don't need to uninstall, just don't use jockey to configure your xorg.conf then (it only changes it when you enable/disable a driver). Please copypaste the output of these two commands (from a Terminal window): lspci |grep VGA lspci -n|grep VGA ** Changed in: jockey (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Driver manager doesn't detect correct drivers for 8800M https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239072 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 230656] Re: can't access administrative settings when logged in remotely through xdmcp
There has been 5 months since this bug was reported, and still, there is no improvement at all. I can confirm this same bug for the latest Ubuntu 8.10 too. Another thind I forgot to mantion in the bug report, is that when I run some appication with gksu, there is a long delay (~10s) before the password prompt appears. (Its not slow connection problem - the 2 computers are on a LAN). -- can't access administrative settings when logged in remotely through xdmcp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230656 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Adept 3.0 beta 2 When entering terms to search for in adept, it filters out nearly all sensible results. eg if I enter git-core it shows nothing but if I just put git it shows git-core and a bunch of others. or linux-image shows nothing but just image shows linux- image-2.6...* and others. ** Affects: adept (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Search doesn't work correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278916 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 278635] Re: playdeb repository entry causes apt to crash: Method gave invalid 400 URI Failure message
That is only partially true, as apt wont have any problems fetching the info if any other server is down (not only talking about the official repros, for example medibuntu or redmoon or gehringnet or whatever) So if you just might take a look if there is any method of a workaround it would be helpful. I is a pain in the buns to always having to comment out the repro in sources.list. -- playdeb repository entry causes apt to crash: Method gave invalid 400 URI Failure message https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278635 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
