I can confirm this problem in Jaunty (5.2.6-2ubuntu5), Intrepid
(5.2.6-2ubuntu4) and Hardy (5.2.4-2ubuntu5.4). Well, at least I can
confirm the symptom.
The versions in Gutsy (5.2.3-1ubuntu6.4) and Dapper (5.1.2-1ubuntu3.12)
seems to be working fine.

This bug seems to have been sitting unresolved for far too long:
vdr-genindex as per the first follow-ups should simply be brought back
into Hardy as well (this rather than Intrepid being the LTS we have to
live with until 2011!).
vdrsync (which has stopped working reliably at least with DVB
I reinstalled my Intrepid.
With the basis kernel everything is OK.
I am now upgrading to the last kernel all last packages.
I hope the problem will have disappeared.

I can't run it as tilp2. The packages I installed from the calcforge repo
and it runs as tilp. Running sudo tilp works up until it gives me that
error. Also, I only have my user account on this machine, so I don't know
what could be the problem.

Jaunty again: installed kpowersave, it responds to fn-f4 and suspends.
On resume it reports a suspend error -1 that wasn't present with
Intrepid. But at least it sees the key press event and suspends.

jaunty when I had heard that this problem was fixed in the 2.6.28 kernel but
experienced erratic keyboard/mouse behavior. Might just be me but I never

Could you post the output of modinfo raw1394? I'd like to check
whether all device identifiers are in there as they should be. May be
necessary to run it as root or to run it as /sbin/modinfo raw1394.
Also, if you have the camcorder around, please plug it in/

I can do the gstreamer movie player but i will have to get the valgrind
tonight, im at work and cant connect my comp to the internet, im using
my work laptop to try and figure this out, but i will get the valgrind

Im running Jaunty (clean install) and have not started ekiga before, so it
currently doesn't exist any personal settings for ekiga to load.
