[Bug 292548] Re: nmbd -D uses 95% processor when there is not lan conection.

2009-02-28 Thread Janaka Perera
I am also having the same problem with Ubuntu 8.10. I even removed the
samba demons from auto start up list but somehow it's getting started in
OS startup may be after an update. This problem drains my laptop battery
so fast because of the CPU usage.

[Bug 267779] Re: via-rhine network adapater won't work on resume

2009-02-28 Thread Jeff Trull
I filed bug 281089 on two resume issues: one network (I have this same
via rhine driver) and one USB mouse. My network issue appears to be the
same as this bug, judging from the dmesg backtrace. I'm not sure I
would agree that this is a firmware issue, though - for me this is a
regression from Hardy, where suspend worked properly on the identical
hardware.

Adding the following line to /etc/pm/config.d/local works around my
problem in Intrepid:

SUSPEND_MODULES=via_rhine

[Bug 335754] [NEW] Evolution doesn't update IMAP on server after applied message filter

2009-02-28 Thread jadoti
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Short Version:
An email downloads to Evolution, evolution applies a rule, moves the email to
FolderA, however, never updates the IMAP server of the complete move, so other
IMAP clients accessing that account see the message both in the Inbox and in
FolderA.

Longer Version:
I have an IMAP email account that I check from several computers, including my
Ubuntu 8.10 install in Evolution and my iPhone.

On all systems, including iPhone, the account is setup as IMAP.

Everything works when I do things manually. If I move a message from
Inbox to FolderA in Evolution, it moves, and when I check my mail on my
iPhone, I see the message in FolderA, not the Inbox.

However, when I set a message filter to move certain messages from the
Inbox to FolderA upon receipt, while Evolution moves the message to
FolderA as soon as it downloads, there never seems to be an update
back to the IMAP server that the message has moved from the Inbox. There
*DOES* seem to be an update back to the IMAP server that the message is
in FolderA, though.

The result, currently, is that even though Evolution is left on and
checking messages, moving certain incoming emails to FolderA, on the
iPhone, I have the messages in FolderA *AND* the Inbox. Even when I do
an update, or wait on the iPhone, they still appear in both FolderA and
the Inbox.

To verify this wasn't a problem with just the iPhone, I logged into the
web-based interface for the IMAP account and verified that the emails
were still in the inbox.

The requested information to include:
m...@trader:~$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 8.10
Release:8.10

m...@trader:~$ apt-cache policy evolution
evolution:
  Installed: 2.24.3-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.24.3-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.24.3-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid-updates/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 2.24.1-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/main Packages

Expected Evolution to update the IMAP server, telling it the message is
now in FolderA, and remove it from Inbox.

It left it in both Inbox and FolderA on the IMAP server, FolderA in
Evolution, and Inbox FolderA on every other IMAP client that connects
to that account.

2009-02-28 Thread Hacene Hk
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this
bug as a bug in alsa-driver

[Bug 335761] [NEW] Placement policy 'Remember' by default for all windows

2009-02-28 Thread usr
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kubuntu-default-settings

The desktop evironment must remember positions and size for all apps, for
better desktop
experience.
It's very annoying to have to resize the applications each time they boot.

This bug affects to Ubuntu, Kubuntu, and Xubuntu.

In Kubuntu, it can be done by hand with KWin, but this is something that KWin
should
know do by himself (like MS Windows, for example).

[Bug 335767] [NEW] Jaunty Alpha 5: Usb stick (flash drive) does not pop up on the Gnome desktop

2009-02-28 Thread Asmo Koskinen
Public bug reported:

I have made fresh installation of Ubuntu 9.04 Alternate (i386) Alpha 5.
Everything else works (sound, Vinagre), but usb stick (flash drive) does
not pop up on the Gnome desktop. Very same hardware works fine with
Ubuntu 8.04.2 Alternate (i386).

There are files as attachment about dmesg- and ps ax -commands for both
server and client (chroot).

To me this bug is very same as this fixed one:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ltsp/+bug/273147

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.

[Bug 331768] Re: Use standard name for .desktop files

2009-02-28 Thread Milan
Thanks for committing! I've not managed to convince the freedesktop.org
list, and it looks like the issue is tricky for corner cases. But
anyway, the fix is a good thing in general, and for now we're going to
rely on it, so it will help beta users and contributors. I'm not sure we
will use it at the end, but we may well rely on it, combined with other
methods.

[Bug 286783] Re: Seahorse incompatibility with scim-bridge does not allow to type passwords

2009-02-28 Thread frankieus
Now it _nearly_ works. I mean, when I go to
[Key]-properties-details-Expires and I try to change the date I find
no problems

Nonetheless, I have notice that once I see the window asking me for the
passphrase if instead typing the passphrase I click on Cancel and then I
try to change the expiration date again, then the problem comes back
until I reboot seahorse.

So it is good cause now I can update the key, but whatever was fixed it
is not still fixed when the Cancel button is clicked.

To reproduce the problem go:

Ubuntu 8.10 / Seahorse 2.24.1 / SCIM (Support for Complex Imput) with
Chinese

1. Click on [Key]-properties-details-Expires
2. When asked for the passphrase click on Cancel
3. A new windows comes up asking for the passphrase, when typing the passphrase
Seahorse does not recognise it as valid.
4. Reboot Seahorse so it works again (unless you click on Cancel).

Regards.

[Bug 332840] Re: $(SHELL) config.status broken

2009-02-28 Thread Loïc Minier
I'm attaching the patch against SVN which I sent upstream and which
fixes the build for me; it only fixes the gtk+/po-properties/-specific
bug; the general use of config.status in Makefile.in.in is still poor,
but I'll wait for gettext's folks take on this issue before patching
these files.
