You're right, that was undiplomatically stated. uinput insertion SHOULD
require root privs. Fundamentally, this is insecure and automatically
adding users to groups and so on doesn't change this. Short of finding
a way to remove uinput requirements, there's no way to secure this app.

Thanks for forwarding that. It didn't go through because
I sent it with a From address not matching the subscribed one.

I must also add that scrolling (especially on certain websites like

It's a bash script. You should invoke it explicitly with bash. Also, you
should not use sudo.

Using xfwm4 (4.6.0-1ubuntu3) jaunty; urgency=low:
running this command you would expect that the window is brought to your

Umh, neither bug #291248, nor bug #300935 seem related to this bug.
Maybe Timo Aaltonen meant a different bug?

I can still reproduce it with the procedure and file above. Please note
this only appears when composing the message per command-line script.
When composing the mail via the Thunderbird UI, everything is working
fine. Screenshot of error message attached.

The bug is still present on jaunty with updates of 2009-03-30 on XPS

sudo chmod -x /usr/bin/pulseaudio
"fixes" it for the moment by making pulseaudio unexecutable.

I (and everybody on my team) have a list of 36 bzr repositories we pull
in as source deps of our project. As updating them all is very slow,
mostly due to network latency, we update them in parallel, 10 at a time,
using xargs. Something like

It would be very cool if someone could get the AD bit parsing done in the

the next release. I believe this is the only thing stopping us from using
DNSSEC as outlined above.
